Using Facebook, Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz responded to a Sunday night episode of HBO's "True Blood." The show revolved around a vampire bloodbath at a fictional Ted Cruz fundraising event held at the George W. Bush Presidential Library. The episode is laced with insults aimed at the GOP and coins the term "Republi-cunt."
Cruz labeled the episode "misogynist and profanity-ridden" and then added that he was surprised "HBO is suggesting that hard-core leftists are blood-sucking fiends...."
Of all the places I never thought to be mentioned, HBO's True Blood vampire show would have to be near the top of the list. Sunday night, they aired a misogynist and profanity-ridden episode where Texas Republicans are murdered attending a "Ted Cruz fundraiser."
Well, I'm sorry to have lost the vampire vote, but am astonished (and amused) that HBO is suggesting that hard-core leftists are blood-sucking fiends....
Tuesday morning Breitbart News reported that HBO apparently tried to sucker former-Alaska Governor Sarah Palin into appearing on the show.

One episode...and u know
Interesting that Republicans are routinely using words like misogynist from the feminist perspective.
A couple seasons back on Sons of Anarchy, the porn queen went to have an abortion and used the name Sarah Palin.
I don’t follow these programmes, but a few times, when I have chanced across them on tv, I have been disconcerted by the explicit violence. Apparently available for all to watch - but very disturbing, even as adult viewing.
I don’t even watch HBO when I am staying in hotels. I can’t imagine ever paying for their programming. But then, that’s just me, I never go to the movies either.
That was when I quit watching Sons of Anarchy.
This epitomizes why I gave up entirely on all modern tv-programs. Cut them out of my life completely. The whole mixture of vomitous sleaze and leftist propaganda.
I’m all for supporting good TV but that ain’t it. That was just a gratuitous shot at Palin and conservatives.
Truly vile.
Language straight out of DU
AMC’s “Turn” is solid history based drama about George Washington’s Culper spy ring.

It was a pleasant surprise. Very pro American with a strong historical basis with all the main characters being historical figures. There is no ambiguity or suggestions that the British were right. There is some added drama but not so much that it buries the history.
Turn is great, can’t wait for the next season
Too late for me, as I’ve already dumped my dish.
I don’t doubt there are a few decent, a few tolerable, items still circulating on tv. But, the whole process of finding them got to be akin to descending into a noxious, open-sewer to find the few rare gems. Ultimately the stench became too great to even bother anymore.
7 yrs ago got rid of cable when it crossed $50 Mark. Our family talks to each other. When a baseball game is on I cherish it.
“Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praise-
worthy, meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8.
If we followed this Christian teaching, TV and movies and the internet wouldn’t be the pathological sewers they’ve become.
Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praise-
worthy, meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8.”
Ditto
And a great way to fight the culture war by supporting good TV.
The Last Ship is a new one on TNT Sunday nights. Its fantasy but it’s good stuff with conservative Adam Baldwin. There was some kind of global plague that wiped most people out and they’re a Naval ship looking for a cure as well as fuel and food. At the same time there’s a rogue Russian ship running around causing trouble. Very subdued role for Baldwin.
I’m certain the term “loathsome” was created to describe HBO.
