Conservatives are just as capable as anyone else to operate the levers of the political machinery, but they don't.

Those "independent conservative" chauvinists who get all huffy, do not participate in the process and therefore have no levers to operate.

There shouldn't be such a thing as an "open primary" in any state.

Perhaps Kerry's "yapping about drunken soldiers" is the cover the White House is providing for Putin. Both sides now 'agree that it was a most unfortunate accident caused by drunken soldiers who were never given proper training and supervision, blah, blah, blah.' Then we can have a telephone call between Obama and Putin to exhange their 'understannnding of the unfoooourtunate incident.'

I know what you are saying but we are better that that.If you think not look at what is going on in SC. Chris McDaniel is still alive and fighting the evil Cochran/BGR/Barbour forces forces. He now has funding from a few conservative giants and he may yet pull out a victory.
It’s not easy knocking over an entrenched rino but the key is to never give up never give up.
