Miss Idaho, aka Sierra Anne Sandison, could certainly be posting pictures of crowns and diamonds all over her Twitter page. But the beauty queen is choosing to show off another accessory her insulin pump.
Sandison, a 20-year-old diabetic, was crowned Miss Idaho last Saturday and has talked openly about how she felt when she got diagnosed with type one adult-onset diabetes in 2012. She tweeted a picture of herself lying on her bed, wearing her Miss Idaho sash and crown, a Wonder Woman sweatshirt, and an insulin pump. She tagged the photo #showmeyourpump and encouraged friends and followers to share their own empowering pictures...

ATTA GIRL!!!
Classy young woman, that one! :)
I’d buy that fora dollar!
Good for her. Nothing to be ashamed of.
Whew, sure glad this headline didn’t say she was showing off her penis pump. That could happen in the Hopey Changy US.
She’s not for sale.
Thinking of the mental disability of Miss Teen South Carolina ...

OMG.....
Good Lord, who’s looking at an insulin pump?!
ha. I saw the picture, paused for a moment, and then scrolled down to look for a photo of the insulin pump. Somehow I missed it.
She could also be doing this to raise awareness. She could be a positive example that you can go anywhere and be anything you want to be in spite of diabetes.
She isn’t the “first” to wear a pump. The accompanying article clearly stated Mis Idaho got her inspiration to wear an insulin pump after learning the 1999 Miss America wore one during the beauty pageant competition.
As for Miss Teen South Carolina, she went on to become one of the most famous and recognizable faces (ahem) in the country.
Another breakthrough for a Miss Idaho. Another one was the black Miss Idaho of 1964. Her contract stipulated that she did not have to say the name of the state.
Pump? What pump?
Pretty Girl
and the pump, sure beats an ostomy bag.....
NOT GUILTY!!
Laz would hit that......
You’re terrible. ;-D

Ok... That went right over my head until I pronounced Idaho in Ebonics syntax....
Your cynicism is misplaced, my friend.
I had a woman in my life for 43 years who could have worn the label of “disabled.” She refused to. The things she was unable to do simply opened up an array of other things that she could do. Her friends (and I) knew what was wrong, but the rest of the world saw nothing but grit and determination and her beautiful smile.
She, too, was an Idahoan.
