We could throw up our hands after a brazen gunman killed a photographer and then kept shooting at other people on a Saturday afternoon on a busy street in a neighborhood where shootings aren’t common.
The shooting added to a ceaseless toll of horror that seems to flow like a river of blood. Three others died and 29 were hurt by gunfire over the weekend. The Independence Day weekend before: 16 dead, more than 60 wounded. Tragedy compounding tragedy. Families burying their loved ones, children gunned down, all after a concerted effort by Chicago police to reduce the bloodshed.
The cops can do their best to keep a lid on what’s looking like a long and violent summer, but the problems run deeper — and throughout much of the city, if the Saturday shooting is any indication. Even normally tranquil Montrose Beach turned into a large brawl Sunday night that injured two police officers.

But we are somehow debating the issue from liberal points of view. Liberals do not ever mention the violence perpetrated by the youth gangs. Probably that would be racist, so we can’t talk about that huge portion of the problem.

Memphis had 1 hit and run homicide of a bicyclist going across the nation. Then we had a another idiot runner, who had both ears plugged up with a head set music on full blare, that did not hear the Train, which can’t stop on a dime. Get killed, he was not facing the train. Did not hear the horn. Did not feel the vibrations of it either. Who in their right mind jogs on a RR track facing the wrong way?
Don’t people know the proper rules of the road any more? It is illegal to plug up both ears with ear buds for music. You have to be able to hear ER vehicles and trains.

My son was murdered with a 2 ft section for 4 x 4 fence post so the prep could get the jollies to see what it felt like to kill another human being. Jeremy was 16, with the physical and mental makeup of a 12 year old. He was just a few hundred yards from home, just over the RR tracks when he was ambushed and BEAT to death, 16 blows. His killer stood on the side lines watching the investigation, he bragged about his deed, took his friends to show it, made threatening phone calls from jail to kill any one who testified against him. 2 30 day physce test said he was a incurable social path. Now he is lose in TN having maxed out his ‘not so good’ behavior time.

Keep in mind the sampling was just 45%, they originally committed 25,900 crimes, when placed early release under ‘community’ supervision for parole and probation they then committed another 74,400 new crimes. That folks adds up to 100,300 crimes, and many times more than in victims. As there are multiple people affected when a child is raped or a person murdered.
