How could someone filled with such promise plunge so far, so fast? How does one go from national icon to national laughingstock?
That’s exactly what has happened to Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.
Once arguably the GOP’s most charismatic celebrity, Palin is now better known for “thriving in this role of right wing shock jock” as Nicolle Wallace, a former senior adviser for the John McCain-Palin campaign, now puts it.
It’s a far cry from Sept. 3, 2008, when Palin, then the largely unknown Alaska governor, confidently strode onto the stage at the Republican National Convention as McCain’s running mate and introduced herself to the world. It was a breakthrough moment – supporters saw in her a political outsider, a feisty advocate for conservative values, and a “hockey mom” with five children (including one son on his way to fight in Iraq and another born with Down syndrome).
On the campaign trail, Palin electrified voters portraying herself up as governor who stood up to special interests, lobbyists, big oil companies and the “good-ol’’ boys network.” And to the delight of the party’s base voters, she painted then-Democratic nominee Barack Obama, as an out-of-touch elitist who had nothing to offer but empty promises....

(Maybe the answer to the second question is the "silent majority", those that love America and freedom, are busy living it not sniveling, bitching, and moaning about it.)

Wallace is the laughing stock..she wanted Mitt Romney to win so badly and what happened..the loser LOST..they refused to invite Sarah to the RNC convention..and they still lost..Obama could have lost easily in 2012 had we had a viable candidate..but hey let’s run Romney in 2016 again maybe this time he can win an extra state

Sarah Palin has an estimated net worth of over $12 MILLION. Much from her book sales and lecturing fees. And it wasn’t like she was dead broke before she was a VP candidate.
What exactly have you earned on your book sales and lectures Ms. Wallace? Hint. Close to nothing. A couple NON-Selling books and a six figure contract of $110K from MSNBC to talk gibberish barely pays for the abortions and rehab in a city the size of NYC does it Ms. Wallace?

Ya know, we really are exceedingly blessed to have had Sarah Palin on the national stage all this time. Ted Cruz may not have been elected without her and other Constitutional conservatives probably would not have been elected to important offices.
So...Who would be the national spokesperson for FReepers of like and similar mind if not for her?
And she still takes non-stop flak (and worse) on our behalf...even here on FR, the online home for Constitutional conservatism.

I am fascinated that every single day the MSM says Palin is washed up, no credibility, no brains, lazy, stupid......yet she has them panting like dogs so they won’t miss a single thing she says.
And the people who comment as just as funny “I don’t care about,”, yet know everything she does and says.
