RNC Chair Priebus Under Fire - "Investigate Mississippi Primary Racism"
The American Specator ^ | July 10, 2014 | Jeffery Lord

Missouri GOP Chair:"Investigate Mississippi Primary Racism."

Republican National Chairman Reince Priebus has been asked to open an investigation into the Mississippi Senate GOP runoff election—by a member of the RNC.

In an interview with The American Spectator, Missouri State Republican Chairman Ed Martin says he believes what happened in Mississippi is symbolic of a “battle for the future of the party.” Martin says that RNC colleagues he has spoken to “are looking for Reince Priebus to show leadership” on the issue. “Leadership” defined as opening an investigation into what Martin and others see as race-baiting tactics used to win the primary runoff for six-term GOP establishment Senator Thad Cochran over Tea Party member Chris McDaniel. Martin says what happened in Mississippi is “beyond the pale.” One of his RNC colleagues, Dr. Ada Fisher, a physician who serves as the committeewoman for North Carolina — and the granddaughter of a slave —has volunteered to serve on a panel that would investigate the controversy.

This is yet another indication that the damage from the controversial Mississippi runoff is spilling over into national Republican politics. Indeed, the issue has already surged inside the Beltway with this story that appeared Tuesday night in the Washington Post. Additionally, Martin has written a longer missive at his website headlined: “Investigate Mississippi Primary Racism.”

Let’s begin with the letter the Missouri State chairman has written to the RNC:

Dear Chairman Priebus,

As you know, the situation in Mississippi following the Republican primary run-off is receiving national attention.

I have been particularly concerned about the racially divisive ads and robocalls that have been reported by the Daily Mail. Specifically, that reporting indicated that one of our RNC members was directly responsible for the racially divisive ads.

I have been asking some of my fellow RNC members for their input and advice. Many of us are..................."

I hate the GOP more than the DNC. At least with the DNC you know where they stand. The GOP is nothing more than backstabbing office whores. damn the lot of them.

We cannot object to the Left smearing conservatives with such labels if we do not rebuke those on our side who sink to such tactics.

That is what the NRSC should have realized before they let the Cochran campaign run wild.

It is a bit late for the GOP. With this kind of race baiting and not a single national leader standing up against it and congratulating Thad Cocharan. As far as I am concerned the GOP is past tense for me.

The Senate Conservatives Fund/Ted Cruz has sent McDaniel’s legal defense fund $70K.

Sounds like a lot of us misunderstood the corruption that is MS. MS is stealing the “corruption” title from such competitors as LA and MA.

This is what a battle for the soul of a political party looks like. I am glad to see Republicans, that I have never heard of, standing up.

I'm a conservative but I will not give a bent penny to the RNC or any other GOP affiliate. The Idea of them being the party of conservatism is over.

You're putting me on, right? The DNC?

Do you like the New York Times too? How about that great rag the Washington Post? MSNBC more than FOX?

According to campaign laws, Chris McDaniel is not allowed to use campaign funds to challenge the ruling of the election. That means that even if you contributed before, McDaniel cannot use that money as part of the legal challenge.

Priebus isn't going to investigate squat.

"Indeed, back in 2011 this story in Politico discussing Priebus’s relationship said that Barbour was “central to Priebus's bid” to be elected RNC chairman."

I did have at it, ran out of letters (1000)before I ran out of words.
I recieved a bunch of race baiting calls. I consider them a betrayal as much as Thad having part in keeping R. Reagan off presidential ticket in 1976.
Thank you for the link

Thanks for the link. I just sent an e-mail there which read:

Reince Priebus needs to investigate the travesty that took place in the Mississippi run-off election. I’ve always heard that all politicians are crooked, but, my God....... I never dreamed that Republicans would fall to a lower depraved state than Democrats. If this is not investigated, and those guilty of voter fraud and race baiting pay the consequences for their actions, you will lose a lot of Conservative and Tea Party folks. And, without their votes, the GOP will NOT TAKE CONTROL OF THE SENATE OR WIN THE PRESIDENCY FOR DECADES TO COME.

OK folks, we can sit at our computers or pull out our Smart Phones and gripe and complain, here at Free Republic, all day long. I suggest you click on the link in Post #3 and let the RNC know that you want Reince Priebus to investigate the travesty of the MS run-off election. You can read the e-mail I sent in my Post #18. He prolly won’t do it, but it will aggravate the hell out of him. Politicians hate to hear complaints from people.

Thank you Chairman Martin. The Republican Party absolutely should not mimic the Democrat Party slander that tea partiers are racist. It is simply unacceptable. Keep the pressure up. Let’s hope the RNC listens.
