More than one week after the polls closed in Mississippi's hotly contested Republican U.S. Senate primary, the campaign many have called this year's nastiest political fight shows no signs of letting up.

Chris McDaniel, the Tea Party-aligned candidate in Mississippi who refused to concede after losing in last week's GOP primary runoff against incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran, is digging in further. In an email to supporters Wednesday, McDaniel announced he is building an "Election Challenge Fund" to contest what he called a "corrupt" election.

A source on the Cochran campaign fired back in a conversation with Business Insider Wednesday, in which the source dismissed McDaniel as a "clinically diagnosable narcissist" and a scam artist.

"The guy is basically Joel Osteen," the source said of Mc

Are these guys even INTERESTED in winning in November? Let’s say every word they said was true, and all parties knew it. You DON’T say that about folks in your own party!

My conclusion is that the dirigible is about to pop, and they are actually more afraid of what’s next than losing in November. They are not behaving like winners.

Thing here is, if the slimeballs in the GOP are successful here, then we can expect that they are going to double down on destroying conservatives.

We need desperately to nullify this corrupt election.

Now that the GOP is officially employing the same illegal tactics as the Dems, it is accurate to say the the US electoral process is a third world joke.

The RATS are laughing because the nation now knows that there really is very little difference between them and the GOPe.

This is not the first or only instance of the GOP attacking conservatives. McConnell vowed to destroy the TEA Party and defund candidates that were too conservative. Ask Cucinnelli and Brat (beat Cantor) about that.

This particular case seems much more brazen and stupid but you will notice that GOPE leaders think these tactics are just fine.

3rd party time in America. It looks to me that the establishment is hellbent on staying in power, even if they exactly match the democrat party in tactics and philosophy. I’d say there is less than 10% compatibility left between the conservative base and the establishment. They will not concede, so maybe we need to make the break.

They will still have the big donors, but they will also have dwindling numbers of candidates. If the people really ARE more conservative than the party elites, it won’t take that long. As per Dave Brat’s win, one can see that big money doesn’t necessarily mean a big win, unless you need big money to buy votes.

Hahaha. this is desperate rhetoric.

McDaniel now has 4900 fraudulent votes! and Cochran won’t even show up for his own press conference.

The seat is not happening for the GOP at this point.

Whoever the Democratic nobody candidate is just got lucky and will virtually be handed the seat. No Democrat, of course, will vote for Cochran, and any conservative that does is a fool.

It's a pickup for the Dems. They're probably trying to figure out how they can shoehorn some random drunken Kennedy spawn into this gimme.

I think that it’s racist how the ‘RATS and their GOPe toads conducted this operation. They used African-Americans to do their dirty work so everyone would rather wet the front of their pants than to say anything about what was going on. It’s sad. Minorities have become nothing more than tools to be used by the little white boys and girls down at the Commie ‘RAT DNC.

Thad Cochran is still in there blowing smoke. The meaning of “winning ugly” was not defined by this tentative result of a contested election, but they are trying very hard to raise this kind of fraud and manipulation to an art form.

Honest people really do want to erase the “ugly” from this fiasco. That there was also flat-out VOTE BUYING from ineligible voters, would be a crime in most jurisdictions, but largely unenforced when Democrats are involved.

Mississippi has a long history of chicanery when it comes to elections, but since the state has become a largely “red” state, with Republican-majority districts, the elections have mostly been cleaner and a little more representative. The fact that the apparent fraud took place in what would normally be considered “blue” districts is telling.

The Republicans have a greater responsibility than ever to see to it that their part of the election process is kept as honest as possible.

I'm aware this is not new, just more extreme and becoming the norm.

McConnell is going to discover he was too clever by half come November. If he was going to grow some stones, it would have been much wiser to do it during his dealings with the libs in the Senate. Not by declaring open war on the base of his own party. Or should I say former base? There are only a very few things he could do now that would get me to vote for him again. I can't speak for all KY conservatives, but I have to believe that the informed ones are going to do as I will.

Mississippi may prove to be the turning point. As long as the Republican party is dominated by RINOs, this country’s leftward drift will continue without any substantive opposition.

But in order for Mississippi to be that turning point, the loss to the GOP must extend well beyond Mississippi. Anyone who thinks that the tactics employed in Mississippi are not approved by the leadership throughout the party are deluding themselves.

Anyone voting for a RINO candidate, in any state, is effectively supporting these tactics, is effectively supporting the left, and is an accomplice to those hastening the demise of this great country.

This is especially true down ticket. The strength of the hard-left RINOs stems from their domination of the state parties.

If you are not certain that a candidate is steadfastly opposed to the Republican elite, then do not vote for them. The burden of proof is now upon every Republican candidate to not only publicly distance themselves from that elite, but to oppose them as vigorously as the RINOs oppose conservatives.
