He gave away a couple of muffins and a mayonnaise packet, lol. This hardly constitutes grand larceny - except to the Scrooges at FR.

After being warned repeatedly to knock it off. That he wasn't fired the first time he was caught giving away free food shows great restraint of Cracker Barrel's part.

And we're all Scrooges because we support Cracker Barrel? Have you ever tried running a restaurant? It's one of the hardest jobs out there. See how long you stay in business if your employees are giving away stuff for free.

My husband has run restaurants for over 20 years. The amount of food he is forced to throw out because of stupid health Nazi/government regulations is atrocious. I cry every time I think of the two 20 pound turkeys he was forced to toss because the health inspector saw them on a table rather than in the fridge. They had been on the table for approximately 5 minutes when the Nazi walked in.

I don’t think of a small mayonnaise packet as “food.” If he had been giving away meat, I would have an issue.

"... See how long you stay in business if your employees are giving away stuff for free."

We're all seeing what the economic impact is of firing an employee for giving away a tiny muffin to the needy in the Internet age.

You know, where public billboards like Facebook exist hosting corporate sites welcoming anyone on the face of the Earth to come scribble on.

Boy, this could turn out to be one expensive-assed muffin, huh?
