The Democrats' best shot in Mississippi
Politico ^ | June 26, 2014 | ANNA PALMER

Democrats were crossing their fingers that Chris McDaniel would be the Republican nominee in Mississippi.

But since Sen. Thad Cochran has prevailed, they are trying to do the unthinkable — unseat a six-term GOP senator.

McDaniel supporters are irate that Cochran won a GOP primary by reaching across the aisle. Now some of his backers are ambivalent about whether they’ll come out at all in November — and if they don’t, that could create a rare opening for a Democrat here.

This turns out that the GOPE will refuse to support and fund any conservative. They would rather lose than see a conservative win.

I hope the GOPE candidate all lose in November.

“Getting a Republican Senate is just too important “

Thanks for your excellent, rational explanation — if only people would listen...

No matter how you slice it, what is at stake is control of the Senate - -do you want it under R or D control — do you want it to rubberstamp Obama’s destructive actions to destroy the US or not?

The flat out truth of the matter is that the Democrat candidate for Senator is more conservative than is Thad Cochran.

BS. The Democrat, Childers, will vote for Reid for Majority Leader. Cochran will vote for the Republican. THAT one vote is the most important one a Senator casts. Period. Voting for Childers in a general election is a vote for Harry Reid to remain Senate Majority Leader. There is no way around that no matter how you try to spin it.

Tell me exactly what Mitch McConnell will do that’s different than Harry Reid.

Specifics.

Anyone who supports Obama and his far left, anti-US agenda is NO CONSERVATIVE, not even close.

Anyone who supports the smearing of fellow Tea Partiers as vicious racists is NO CONSERVATIVE.

There's no hiding what Haley Barbour, the Cochrane campaign and the GOP-e have done. They have conspired with Democrats against fellow Republicans in order to demean not just a Tea Party candidate, but all Tea Partiers.

If they (and we) want to take over the Senate in 2014, it will have to be done without Mississippi. They have thrown away a seat that could've been won easily.

or put the country ahead of their hurt feelings and help the GOP capture the Senate

Just STOP with the patronizing, pompous-assed lectures and the hold-you-nose-and-vote mantra, okay?

I've been doing exactly that for going on FORTY years now, and what has it accomplished? NOTHING!

There is MORE graft, MORE corruption LESS accountability and the party is still not only veering left, they insist on being the Democrat's whipping post. WHY should I fight for someone who won't even bother to defend themselves?

If the GOPe had any interest in it's base AT ALL, we would not be seeing the mess in Mississippi, and if they were SO worried about losing they would listen on occasion.

So if failing to support treacherous backstabbers mean the Democrats win, LET THEM!

I, for one, will no longer BE the Republican's bitch!

Got it? GOOD!

Mitch McConnell will stand up and fight against conservatives and the TEA party even harder as majority leader.

I said nothing about party unity. You apparently replied to the wrong post.

There’s a big difference between promoting unity and opposing suicide. One can do the latter without embracing the former.

I have yet to see McConnell and the GOPE “leaders” stand up to Obama in any real or meaningful way.

Nothing. Amnesty is the next big push, and they’re on the same side of it, which is opposed to conservatives, or even a plurality of Americans right now.
