I am no fan of Mitch McConnell.

I live across the river from Kentucky. The opponent Grimes is no one we want in the US Senate for 6 years. She is not just pro-abortion, she is pro LATE TERM abortion.

It would be a terrible thing to have her there. No one who supports life would want her there to replace McConnell, who has many faults, but who has always been a reliable pro-life vote.

Are you seriously wanting to turn a House seat over to the Democrats, just because your guy didn’t get the nomination?

This doofus is not in the House at all. He is the GOP's so-called "leader" in the Senate, and the sooner he is put out to pasture, the better off the country will be.

The answer is yes. They would rather have a Democrat who votes 10% on conservative issues than a "RINO" who votes 70% on conservative issues.

The Democrat has not declared war on me in my own state, and vowed to crush me wherever he found me.

McConnell HAS.

You bet your pretty bottom that I would rather the Democrat get his seat than a slime who has enabled Obama's agenda to sail through without so much as a hiccup.

I'd rather the Democrat get his seat than vote for the traitorous creep working with George Soros to get Thad Cochran back into office against the Conservative in MS.

We Conservatives are campaigning for a Conservative write-in come November.

We want McConnell TOAST in this commonwealth.

I know it’s Senate, not House. It’s late, and I’m tired. ;-)

That said, the comments on this thread are appallingly naive. I don’t have to like McConnell to know that we can’t afford to let a Democrat have that seat.

Well, some of your fellow FReepers are salivating at the prospect of giving her McConnell’s seat.

How will we ever get this country back with that kind of thinking?

Agreed - it’s one thing to oppose him in a primary. But it would be treasonous to support anyone else in the general.

It’s unfathomable to think that anyone here would do anything actively or passively to elect Grimes, and risk losing the Senate.

See #21.

No matter what you think of McConnell, of Senate republicans, of any of that, this woman, Grimes, is a radical, pro late term abortion, liberal.

She is not the one to send a message with. Do it with a democrat like Zell Miller...not one like Alison Grimes.

Don't worry, my friend. I myself make plenty of blunders. :)

I agree. This is disheartening. :(

Cry me a river. I will do everything I can to politically destroy all liberal republicans either in the primary or in the general election.

Being a liberal republican must become a political kiss of death.

Don't like it? Tough.

Liberals, especially liberal republicans, are the enemy.

The problem is McConnell is going to have six years to flood our judiciary with pro-abortion. The Supreme Court, federal court, everywhere. His main job as majority leader will be to get Obama and Hillary's judges in.

Yes, it's that Grimes is pro-late term abortion. It's slightly better that McConnell won't publicly say he is for late term abortion, but has McConnell every done anything to suggest he is against abortion in any way? He is going to be in charge of the Republican Senate. Do you know the damage he could do in six years? In six years, the GOP platform may be stridently anti-life, and pro-lifers may be kicked out of the party.

I don’t want to see any Republican seats go to a Dim, but McConnell is toxic. He is a despicable human being.

I don’t understand KY. It is a conservative state, but elects real lunatics to office.

You think you're going to “rescue” the country by having a repub majority that will continue to vote for such atrocities as “amnesty”, “Debt Ceiling raises without spending cuts”, and expansion of the federal government?

Like it or not, this country is divided and preparing for armed conflict, and I mean against each other. The producers vs the parasites. You are simply advocating for more of the same in order to avoid conflict.

So go ahead, have it your way. The end result will be slavery or civil war. Civil war is the path we are on, like it or not, acknowledge it or not. Allowing the dems to push us to the breaking point will most likely trigger a Civil War. Muddying the waters by having both dominant political parties guide us to ruin will more than likely lead us to slavery, although not before armed conflict has occurred.

Let the dems do what they will and more citizens will be prepared to resist the inevitable. Muddy the waters with a “bipartisan” slide into totalitarianism and fewer citizens will be eager to resist the juggernaut that is the federal government.

Extrapolation tells me that your path is that of ruin. Just my opinion, but study history closely and you'll discover that reality over the long term is against your beliefs.

Most of the electorate is fed up and rightly applying the “cough test” to all Republicans.

Not a chance. The bulk of our citizens are currently only interested in what is best for themselves, and what the government will give them. That's not hyperbole, it's fact.

This country is preparing to capitulate to the federal government, and there are precious few options left to avoid being the “slaves” of the federal government.

I've postulated that we cannot avoid such a fate due to the shrinking number of patriots that are willing to sacrifice everything in order to put us back on the path to prosperity, and I desperately hope I am wrong.

Jefferson County. Reminds me of Montgomery County, MD. Just not quite as loony. But they'd like to be, and they are working on it.
