Eric Cantor’s Primary Loss Is a Political Earthquake. And It’s Awful.

How did the No. 2 man in the House lose a primary? Chalk it up to immigration and the Tea Party. It’s one of the most shocking losses in U.S. electoral history—and it’s bad for America. Here’s the thing: Eric Cantor did not fall asleep in this race. He spent around $5 million. He ran lots of TV ads. He knew this was going to be a close one. He campaigned. And he still got creamed.

And here’s the other thing: Cantor was not an enemy of the Tea Party. He was in fact the Tea Party’s guy in the leadership for much of the Barack Obama era. He carried the tea into the speaker’s office. And still he got creamed.

Do not know. I have no confidence in his loyalty to the Conservative Cause. I have heard some speculation that he will run as an independent. That would seem pointless to me except for being spiteful - he would still lose his Majority Leadership and seniority.

Yet there was no Democratic to oppose Cantor. At least the VA 7th district dem headquarters states there was no petition filed.
What can change?

I’m sure Jenny Beth’s organization is a great tea party group, but the tea party is a lot bigger than her or the TPP. This is a huge win for the small government grassroots conservative movement. We’ve been around for a long time and, God willing, will be around for a lot longer.

But I thought that the TEA Party was dead!?!?!

Now waiting for Cantor to publicly concede, plead for party unity, and direct the National Republican Party to back the primary's winner, Dave Brat.

Crickets.

Paul Ryan is from my home state and I will work for any opponent that be courageous enough to run against him when he’s up for reelection.

Cantor was a liberal who supported a path to citizenship for the swarthy illegals. (He didn’t say that, of course, at least the swarthy part.)

Race pops up, as usual.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Cantor secretly supported the Dem. These insiders are vicious.

Take a read here if you’re unfamiliar with all the dirty tricks Cantor tried:

OMG, the writer sounds like some kid from the 1950s - haven’t heard the phrase “got creamed” in that context for decades.

Too bad, so sad - Cantor deserved this defeat, if only for his constant amnesty whoring.

I am hoping we get so many real conservatives elected that it starts getting people believing.

So, YIPPEE!! Too bad South Carolina wasn’t ready to dump their queen. Damn, 6 more years of him.
