Oh, it's a great excuse to post it. The poem I like the best is this by Kipling.

The Gods of the Copybook Headings 

AS I PASS through my incarnations in every age and race,

On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life

And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "The Wages of Sin is Death." 

In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,

Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew

"I released the Taliban because screw you." This is the only explanation that makes any sense -IMO.

I notice my phrase popping up here and there. If it starts popping up outside Free Republic, I will feel as though I have contributed to the nation's discussion, and in some small way exposed Obama for the Satanic heinous twisted squirming evil that he is.

Dumbest Defense Yet of Bergdahl Deal?

Mark Jacobson may have set a new standard for dumb defenses of the Bergdahl deal. Appearing on MSNBC’s Up With Steve Kornacki today, scholar and Afghanistan veteran Jacobson suggested that opposition to the Bergdahl deal arises out of the soldier’s religion and politics. He made a mind-boggling analogy: “My parents freaked out when I went to Afghanistan both times. If I had been captured. Do I want someone to say this nice Jewish kid over in Afghanistan, a little bit liberal, not really sure if we’re going to go get him? Absolutely not.”

What?? If a soldier, whatever his religion or politics, had served, to quote Susan Rice, with “honor and distinction,” and a deal to retrieve him were on the table that wouldn’t seriously jeopardize our national security interests, can anyone conceive that we wouldn’t make it? The objections to the Bergdahl deal arise out of the very high national security price exacted in exchange for someone who seemingly was at best AWOL, if not a deserter. Giving the lie to Jacobson’s lunacy was fellow panelist Jack Jacobs, who objected to the Bergdahl deal. Jacobs, by the way, grew up a nice Jewish kid in NYC, and was awarded the Medal of Honor for his service in Vietnam. (Video below.)

I'm pissed off.

I believe those who orchestrated Operation Chokepoint have a great plan. I will adopt it. Attack the wallet.

Operation choke point is too clever by half. The underlying idea is sound....go after the wallet. But the way they approached it via the banking system was dumb. Now they’ll just force those folks to get creative in how they deal with things such as by using crowd funding, alternative currencies such as bitcoin, etc. Maybe some other folks will be inspired to do exit the banking system as well.

I’d hate to see too big to fail cronies of the uniparty lose business. Matter of fact I’d be downright despondent.

Now for a positive suggestion to honor a FReeper who has inspired me to behave better. I think I might have to try out some of those alternate currencies after all. And maybe crowd fund a gun store. It’s better than playing the useless and rigged ballot box game.
