Hillary’s Publisher: This Is ‘The Most Admired Woman in the World’
National Review ^ | 6/9/14 | Jim Geraghty

Jonathan Karp, the president of Hillary Clinton’s publisher, Simon & Schuster, just sent along this promotional e-mail:

Dear Jim,

I thought you might want to know that Hillary Rodham Clinton writes about you in her new book, Hard Choices. She begins this deeply personal and fascinating memoir by describing the end of the 2008 campaign and her gratitude to all the friends and supporters who put 18 million cracks in the “highest, hardest glass ceiling.”

As Secretary Clinton’s publisher, I’m hoping you’ll immediately want to buy a copy of this extraordinary book. Hard Choices is the best account I’ve read of what it’s like to be in the room with the leaders who are confronting some of the most challenging and interesting issues of our time…

Yeah, she is so great that a very liberal, race-oriented, community organizer with no executive experience, Chicago trained, legalistic academic from the Ivy League trounced her handily in 2008! I wonder whom this Jonathan Karp voted for and financially supported in that election cycle?

Sadly, I think they’re right. If Margaret Sanger were alive today she’d be all over every form of media and probably positioned to be president.

They could be right.

But it's because the "most admired woman" polls always choose a president's wife -- especially now that Mother Teresa is gone -- either because that's all they ask or because it's all people can think of off the top of their heads.

The parallel would probably be to Eleanor Roosevelt or Jackie Kennedy or Lady Bird Johnson, rather than to Margaret Sanger who wasn't that well known in her own day, so far as I know.

I noticed that she's scheduled for an hour during the prime-time doldrums tonight at 9PM on ABC, iirc.

Seriously? An hour for her to pimp "her" book?

So is there any doubt that she will run for president? Any doubt that the media will repeat the words “first woman president” endlessly? is there any doubt that she will be on the cover of all the women’s magazines?
Is there any doubt that the media will attempt to destroy any Republican contender?

She is only famous; what supposed accomplishments has she had except for not getting caught doing something illegal.

Well, the boy's got product to sell. What would you expect him to say? I sort of wish somebody in my family had a piece of one of the best-selling books of all time by the most admired man in his entire country and a few besides. Yessir, that Mein Kampf was one heckuva piece...

Bullshit! She is a total fabrication of the media. Only a bunch of parasitic immortal slaves would want her to rule over them. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this fits the United States at this point to a tee.

Yougov.com did polling on this. Hillary Clinton came in at the bottom of 10 names in the US (but still managed to be the top woman). She didn't make the top 10 in other countries.

It looks like the most admired women in the world may be QE II, Oprah, Angelina, and Indian activist Anna Hazare, but of course, these polls are always a little suspect. No sign of Moochelle.

More here and here.
