A member of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahls platoon in Afghanistan said Sunday the former Taliban prisoner deserted his post before being captured and fired back against Obama administration arguments that only Bergdahl knows exactly what happened.
After Bowe Bergdahl purposely and willfully walked away, every single mission was titled toward finding him, platoon medic Joshua Cornelison told Fox News Sunday. We were there. This isnt some second- or third-hand account.
Cornelisons comments come several days after a State Department spokeswoman told Fox News that Bergdahl is probably the person who knows best what happened on that night and dismissed published accounts from platoon mates about the events surrounding Bergdahls June 5, 2009, disappearance and capture.

Good point and not a surprise with 0bama running the show.
They had 2 articles supporting Bergdahl and trashing his unit yesterday.
They are claiming to have information from the hospital where the POS is being treated. Someone is leaking, or they are making it up as they go

Bergdahl Was In Unit Known For Its Troubles (Here come the smears)
True but that ambitious Colonel or General only has a couple years left to kiss 0bama’s rear. I believe contrary to current belief that the majority of higher ranking officers still believe in duty and honor and they’ll remember the butt kissers.
Thank you so much, digger.
So the other men in his unit stayed, did their jobs, risked their lives and are all mentally unfit, but the one who sneaked away like a thief in the night is a hero?
That, ladies and gentlemen, is how the left sees everything, inside out, upside down and backward. Yes, the patients really are running the asylum.
I see the Times is using anonymous quotes yet again. Whenever they don’t have any facts, information or people willing to go on the record, they get these “quotes.” The Times is shameless. The National Enquirer has more integrity.
Second we sent troops out repeatedly to locate him. We lost 6, 8 or 12 men in this fraudulent search for a traitor This is part of our philosophy of not leaving any man behind. Interesting that now the only ones telling the truth about this traitor are the enlisted men. Their officers have left their men behind, they do are cowards. They do not deserve our respect nor can they lead troops again. Time to drum them out of the service. Lastly we heard about the NDA, non disclosure agreement, that these troops signed. They are coerced and non binding . Did Obbie think real men would stand down to a piece of paper? These are men, the enlisted men. The rest of the cowards and traitors are such that.
You could very well be correct. But if the "butt kisser" outranks you it doesn't matter much what you think of him.
I’ve wondered that too. I think they can.
But here is the thing, could they punish all of them? And if they did, what (further) damage to military morale would ensue.
The way this is being handled is hurting overall military morale, and that a BFD (to quote Biden). I’m not sure the Obama admin, as clueless as they are, has considered the full ramifications of their belittling of Bergdahl’s fellow soldiers. He is basically calling them all liars and questioning their motivations.
That can’t be good for military morale as a whole.
They could try, but so far, from what I’ve seen, the Soldiers who have come forward haven’t been speculating outside their knowledge. They “stayed in their lane,” as we say.
I see you're a Captain while my stellar Army career (cough, cough) saw me rise to the lofty rank of SP5.A SP5 that never ran afoul of the UCMJ in fact.So you know far more about military justice than do I.However, couldn't a commander go after them on the grounds of a security breech or something like that?
Fort Sam bump....
Commanders can only order people under their command. A commander can say, “No one talks to the press about this,” and, while dubious legally if only the known/unclassified facts are adhered to, the CO can get them for failure to follow a direct order. However, if these guys are out or even on IRR, I don’t see there being a problem unless they start venturing completely into the unknown (”Yes, Bergdahl betrayed us by giving Taliban fighters inside knowledge of our tactics”) or make accusations against leadership (”Our CO knew he was a problem but did nothing to reign him in”) or something along those lines. That’s why it was very smart of their medic to give the shoulder shrug to every question but the one he knew the answer to—Bergdahl definitely deserted. He was there, he knew that one firsthand.
Their officers are the deserters too. They deserter their men in this media battle. They and Bergdahl are cowards.
Bergdahl ping.
I do give more weight to this testimony, for one reason.
It’s from the medic. You can BS your squad mates for a time. Gripe and grumble and hide the damned hurt, physical or mental. Sort of normal, isn’t it. Most medics are pretty good at cutting through the BS and seeing the problem, and they ain’t shy about calling you on it.
Yes, the medic knows everyone in his unit well, probably better than most.
He was also among the six that appeared with Megyn Kelley on The Kelly Files and in my view wouldn't have if he thought any of the other five were not truthful.
Perhaps you’ve noticed only those who are no longer actively serving have spoken up, enlisted and officer? Are they all cowards or just the officers? What exactly could they add to the conversation that hasn’t already been stated? He deserted. Asked and answered. That’s all they know for sure at this point.
You’re next in the long line of idiot FReepers who think that people whom you don’t know are cowards b/c they don’t torpedo their careers when you think they should. Just be quiet and watch the news some more.
Looks like we are backing the right team.
I have run into a number of other Vets from the Balkan wars who were not permitted to speak the truth either. i.e. The Saudi’s funding the islamists and their resulting massacres.
