On Wednesdays The Late Show on CBS, host David Letterman complained to CNNs Anderson Cooper about the lack of action on the child deaths by handgun. He pointed recent incidents in Santa Barbara, CA and Newtown, CT and lamented that neither of those has inspired a solution to shootings and guns in our society.
I think, I dont have the statistics but that's never stopped me, Letterman said. I think daily in this country a child or an underage boy or girl is shot and killed by a gun. And then we had the situation in Santa Barbara, CA where a fellow was unbalanced and killed people then killed himself. I certainly thought that Newtown was going to be the landmark, changing touchstone point in this country where we changed our understanding and awareness about gun ownership and how to improve, not eliminate guns -- how to improve. But now we've just become inured with this. People are shot and killed each and every day by private handgun ownership. This -- you can't tell me this is an insoluble problem.

People should recall that Letterman lost his drivers license after multiple busts going 100mph + on the Merritt Parkway in CT.
The Merritt was designed in the 1920s for NYers driving Model Ts who wanted a nice and sedate (read: 45mph tops) Sunday drive out to the CT countryside. I think the fastest I’ve ever dared to go on it is about 80, on a couple of the rare straightaways. The section he got busted on, between New Canaan and Greenwich, is suicidal to drive anywhere above about 65. Even with a Porche 911.
IOW Dave’s proven himself to be significantly more dangerous behind the wheel than I, or I’d guess anyone else here has, holding a firearm.
Dear Dave, the last time you were funny as in 1987. Don’t go away, just die.
Later, after the taping of his show, he left, surrounded by armed bodyguards.
Ah! Dave the last attack on our youth was done by other youth and was done with a Knife. Girl stabbed 12 times I believe lets ban Knives Dave get on the band wagon for knife control.
Solution:
Liberals shut their pie-holes and their vote-holes. Conservatives will protect themselves, allow open carry everywhere. Teach children about firearm safety everywhere. Round up the vermin off the street and lock them away from society. Place mentally ill people in a locked down facility. Disallow the insane amount of prescrition medication that’s out there. And above all, teach people about GOD and Jesus.
Guns don't dissolve in water....
When Shirley MacLaine went on Letterman’s show, he was just plain nasty to her, which is pretty typical for him, as he is basically a mean man. But she not only told him to go to hell, but told her very large circle of friends what he was like.
From that point, any time he tried any of his crappy tricks on one of them, they wouldn’t let him get away with it, and would call him on it. Then let him know that MacLaine was the one who told them about him.
Pretty soon, Letterman wanted to strangle her for ruining all of his mean fun.
If gun control worked it would be working in Canada.
All the Liberals did was waste a Billion Plus dollars on nothing
David Letterman and Anderson Cooper together in a discussion - that MIGHT equal a total I.Q. of 100.
Note to David: When you and the liberals can stop crime altogether, those of us who are sane and rational might start seeing things your way. So what is going to be your first step to end crime altogether? Because that is where it starts.
“But that really isnt the answer Letterman wanted, is it?”
It probably is, he just doesn’t have the guts to say it.
David Letterman is Presbyterian, not Jewish.
MEN with guns saved your 16 month old son from a kidnapper.
Get lost, Dave.
David, the American problem with violence is not in the gun store, it is around the dinner table. It is a family issue - the raising of children.
It's not.
Step 1: Shut the hell up and keep your mouth off my Constitutional rights.
Step 2: Well, there IS no step 2, unless you count choking government back to the degree of respect they USED to have for my rights.
