David Letterman Rails Against Guns: 'You Can't Tell Me This Is an Insoluble Problem'
Brietbart ^ | 4 Jun 2014 | Brietbart

On Wednesday’s “The Late Show” on CBS, host David Letterman complained to CNN’s Anderson Cooper about the lack of action on the child deaths by handgun. He pointed recent incidents in Santa Barbara, CA and Newtown, CT and lamented that neither of those has inspired a solution to shootings and guns in our society.

“I think, I don’t have the statistics but that's never stopped me,” Letterman said. “I think daily in this country a child or an underage boy or girl is shot and killed by a gun. And then we had the situation in Santa Barbara, CA where a fellow was unbalanced and killed people then killed himself. I certainly thought that Newtown was going to be the landmark, changing touchstone point in this country where we changed our understanding and awareness about gun ownership and how to improve, not eliminate guns -- how to improve. But now we've just become inured with this. People are shot and killed each and every day by private handgun ownership. This -- you can't tell me this is an insoluble problem.”

Hey Letterman - AMEND THE US CONSTITUTION if you hate the 2md so much. Let’s see you and your ilk try that, because there is no other way you and your gun-grabbing liberals are going to effect a GUN CONFISCATION in the United States of America.

Mass shootings are far less than 1% of gun murders.

Most gun "murders" are actually of criminals shot in the act of committing a violent crime.

David Letterman, you get rid of all YOUR guns. All the guns you own, or that your bodyguards own.

Serve as an example.

Yes. The problem isn’t “insoluable”. There are a myriad number of sexual harassment treatment centers out there that could help Mr. Letterman overcome his penchant.

An active, reinforcing and supportive program could rid him of his sexist treatment of his female staff and contribute greatly to a much-improved TV product.

Oh wait! His ass is out, so there will be no product improvement. Enjoy your retirement, a$$hole.

“We have full-time security all the time,” says Fred Nigro, David Letterman’s business manager. “We have it for the show, and we have it for everything else. First he had a stalker, then he had a kidnapping attempt, then extortion. In 30 years, he’s gone through it all.”

Insane people used to be kept in hospitals. Democrats wanted them free. They seem to want killers to have special rights but blame anything else when things go wrong.

Rosie O’Donuts *still* rails against guns after having having revealed that her paid security people pack heat.Ten bucks says that Letterman, when he's not hitting on the hired help,is very familiar with the peace of mind provided by Misters Smith & Wesson.

"...a child or an underage boy or girl is shot and killed by a gun.

If your problem is compounded by category error, it's actually quite possible that you will never solve the problem, Dave.

Gee Dave, has it ever occurred to you that you and your ilk will never get the guns out of the criminal’s hands? We are not passive England. We actually believe in self-defense. Quit whining and just go away like you say you are. I’ve never thought you were funny, and now I know you’re just plain stupid.

Hey Dave Letterman, you liberal dumbass! 55,000 people are killed in car accidents every year, averaging 150.7 people every day. Why not disallow vehicles as killing machines? How about if we disallow your body guards or your heavily gated residence? Just go back to your liberal Kool-Aid Lettterman and STFU!

Is Dave paying any attention to the nut running around in the woods of New Brunswick shooting cops?

If gun control worked it would be working in Canada.

So, Dave, you are against gun ownership?
“Yep, because guns kill people.”
So, Dave, do you own several cars?
“Yep, because cars kill only a few times as many people as guns.”

I was a huge letterman fan when I dumped tv in 1997. I saw him recently. Holy cow he looks older.

But he’s just an entertainer. His opinion is just another guy’s opinion. And some guys voted for Obama.

More people die in Tenn from motorcycle accidents than from across the entire US in mass shootings per year. The lack of intelligence for people to see statistics of the big picture and grasp that it’s not a critical problem....amazes me.

Swimming pools are more dangerous to children than guns. There is no Constitutional right to a swimming pool.

With a single exception, every mass school murder in US history occurred after the Community Mental Health Act of 1963 was passed.

Either crazy people and bad people can be locked up in cages, or everyone else needs to live in a secure cage.
