Cochran, by contrast, did not appear to address his supporters.

What, and interrupt his Matlock marathon?

That's what happens when he stays awake that long without his nap.

A runoff election gives McDaniel a second chance to pick off the 76-year-old Cochran. He has the wind at his back: Turnout in runoff elections is historically low and tends to favor challengers, whose supporters tend to be more motivated.

I think there is probably a great deal of truth in this observation; so I would favor McDaniel in the runoff election.

In many states, it would probably be a safer bet to go with the establishment conservative, in order to win the necessary swing votes. (After all, merely winning a primary is a phyrric victory if one cannot win the general election.) However, Mississippi is a deep red state; so I doubt that the Democratic challenger will prevail, in November, against either Cochran or McDaniel.

Rabid RATS will go out and vote for Thad. And they will bus in their inner city and plantation voters. I say this based on one friend who pushed voting for Thad in the last few weeks. He and his liberal private school supporting pals will go all out now. They don’t have anything else to do.

Yes....I realize that MS is an open primary and that Democrat thugs will urge their vermin voters to support Cochran in the run-off......but supporting and voting for Cochran does the Democrat low life no good whatsoever, other then possibly besting a conservative. If Cochran wins the run-off , he will suely hold the Senate seat for the Pubbies.....even though he is “Turncoat” Obamabot RINO!!!

Bottom line.....Chris McDaniel must go after every single conservative vote at a 24/7 “breakneck” pace!!! It is as simple as that. And......the Republican leadership better give McDamiel “all’ the support he will need!!! If Cochran had half a brain.....he would concede to McDaniel and withdraw from the race today!!! MS McDaniel voters....turn out in record numbers and get everyone you know to go along with you!!! A massive win by Chris McDaniel can change the course of the American Republic to a positive outcome!!!

I wouldn’t put it past that old coot Cochran to go all bitter and refuse to endorse McDaniel in the general.

“Tea Party Forces A Runoff in Mississippi: McDaniel and Cochran fail to win a majority”

Headline wrong and misleading. The third candidate in the race forced the runoff as he got more votes than the differnce of the top wo candidates.

I used to follow this blog some years ago. They seemed to have their finger on the pulse, IMO.

http://yallpolitics.com/index.php

US Senate with 99.7% reporting (5 precincts left):

* Chris McDaniel - 49.5% with 153,586
* Thad Cochran - 48.9% with 151,669
* Thomas Carey - 1.5% with 4,803

- 1,899 separate McDaniel and Cochran. A runoff is increasingly likely.
- Travis Childers is the Democratic nomine (no surprise there).

Its’ my understanding that the runoff is limited only to those who voted in the Republican primary.

Has he addressed them yet? He sent Gregg Harper out last night because he is so senile he can’t make a coherent sentence.

TC won’t have the Democrats voting for him this time, he will be crushed like Dewhurst was.

No, only those who voted in the Democratic primary are excluded.
