What drives the blade into some folks is the harsh political reality that this trip to Afghanistan was a show for Obama’s benefit and Paisley was a tool used by Obama to divert attention from the deaths of our veterans because of “waiting lists” at VA hospitals.
I agree on the issue of Obama’s motives here. There’s no question about it.
What should our people do then, refuse to perform for the troops until Obama is gone? Only travel separately and at great expense?
Perhaps that’s a valid plan. I’m not as opposed to these folks riding on AF1 as others of you are. That doesn’t make me right and you wrong.
If the CIC asks a singer to join him to sing to the troops on Memorial Day in a war zone, I don’t see how he can refuse. And he did spare the troops having to listen to whatever vile act might have gone instead. Besides which, Obama might develop some music sense from listening to some country music instead of that JayZ/Beyonce *rap..

I’m with you on this one. I don’t know much about Mr. Paisley’s politics, but I do know that if I was one of the men in that audience, I’d be mighty glad for the show.
That’s what it’s all about for me. I don’t think we should literally tee off on the guy for essentially doing something for the troops. I can understand why it tweaks folks though.
Exactly right about Paisley. He is an Obama lover and makes no apologies for it. As far as I’m concerned he’s no different than a Bill Mahr, Alec Baldwin, or a Michael Moore. Would there be freepers applauding them for ‘entertaining’ the troops too?
