In the olden days, such people were confined to sanitoriums.

Today they are medicated. Medication works as long as they are faithful to take it. However, experience has also shown me that, for some reason, many folks who need medication to cope with their mental illness are not faithful to the prescribed regimen.

I agree, but sadly those parents did not know how to be parents or have any values themseleves, BUT they are new NORM.

The new norm is what hollywood and rappers say it is now and we are the crazies, until they kill someone as this boy did, then it becomes us the crazies who are to blame. Just the way I see it.
