A chilling message from the cartels: Billboards with hanging mannequins warning cops to choose 'silver over lead' appear in Texas
Two frightening incidents of vandalism in El Paso near the Mexican border in Texas have been interpreted as warnings from drug cartels. In both instances, a mannequin wearing a suit and tie was tied to a billboard with a noose and messages were scrawled over the placards. Local station KHOU reports that one of the signs reads 'Plata o Plombo' which translates to 'silver or lead', a threat used commonly against police officers effectively warning that if they do not accept the cartel's bribes then they will be shot.

Still, I wouldn’t go into Mexico since such skullduggery happens there, by the same token, a lot of people want to stay away from El Paso merely because it is close to the problems in Mexico.
If the billboards are advertising/interest group put-ons, the folks owning them could tell us. If it’s pranking, seems like an odd time and message for it.
This though, opens the doors for a real terror display by the cartels, that is for sure, to hang bodies from bridges as they have indeed done with some regularity I’d say in Mexico.
They probably won’t find out who did this, it won’t matter because as shown in this thread, it has engendered anger at the Cartels, organized crime, drug trade and so on.

They were invited in when the US government colluded with the Sinaloa Cartel and let them run wild. Welcome to the wide, wide world of American governmental corruption.
It seems it would be hard to do without someone seeing. But location, lights turned off, etc could help cover their activities.
Now, now. If Perry didn’t welcome them into the state with open arms, he wouldn’t have so many DREAM Act illegal aliens taking away US citizen students’ college desks. The DREAM Act is, imo, an invasion. He once claimed he didn’t know anything about the rise in illegals so guess he can’t be bothered to look out his office window to a couple blocks over where they’re all living in east Austin.
Seems to me like the investigation should try to trace the mannequins and probably clothes, brand, too. Mannequins especially should be something one could get leads on. Drudge has a big picture of one right now.

I do think of cities as being bigger than 200 K all the same.
I know those studies come out in all shapes and forms.
I think it would be more artificial to compare Ogden Utah or Sioux Falls SD to El Paso.

Screw PC! If any Americans blood is shed, the lame stream media also needs to be held responsible for putting ideology/party politics over the safety of Americans. Fast & Furious was bad for America and they simply tried to ignore it hoping it would go away for political reasons.

I think it’s a weak stat to say something like 73% have lower crime rates. What does that mean? Towns that have 100 people? 50 or 20?
It was reported on the news in Houston. However, the article got it wrong: “Local station KHOU reports that one of the signs reads ...”
KHOU is not a station that is “local” to El Paso, it’s in Houston. El Paso and Houston are about 750 miles apart.
