You would think clean air, great vistas and such would lead to say, rational thought...instead, collectivist IQs in Kalifornia are likely lower as a bunch rather than individually...never have I seen a state full of so many book-smart idiots.

We've got to figure out how to pay for infrastructure,” state Sen. Mark DeSaulnier (D-Concord) said. “One philosophy is, if you use it, you should pay for it.”

LOL. I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I see quotes like that. Politicians NEVER dedicate transportation taxes to infrastructure. Just like with the gas tax, they build up a pile of money and then can't keep their grubby hands off of it and it goes into the general account.

state Sen. Mark DeSaulnier (D-Concord)

says it all. Dims never met a tax they did not love. Kaliforyastan you have what you have. The only way you will survive the invasion from the south, the far East, from Asia, from the Middle East is to say enough is enough and take your state back. Otherwise, you are dead. Or, do the best thing you can do for yourself and family, pack up and leave. No job is worth having to give half of what you earn to the state. Make less somewhere else and pay less tax. You'd be happier in a FREE state.

The gas tax is a mileage tax.

Resistance to the tax will take the form of reduced driving. It will have the effect of an overall revenue reduction. The popularity of biking will increase.

Don't have the funds to pay for roads?

California’s total state and local tax burden in 2010 ranks 4th, at a rate of 11.2% of per capita income compared to the national average of 9.9%.

CA is also 12th in GSP per capita.

Summary - overtaxed and mismanaged.
