Mayor Ed Murrays minimum wage advisory committee is deadlocked, Seattle City Council member Kshama Sawant said Friday, with the socialist officeholder pledging she will now work to build a strong coalition in the streets.
Sawant and two other left-leaning City Council members sit on the panel, which is co-chaired by business leader Howard S. Wright III, CEO of Seattle Hospitality Group, and Service Employees Union leader David Rolf, the citys most able labor leader.
The statement by Sawant comes amids increasing indications that Seattle voters will have the final say on on the minimum wage issue. And, like Washington voters on gun safety, they may find themselves facing a ballot with two or more wage initiatives.

Put it on a ballot. The freeloaders will be sure to show up.
For a second there I read it as mayors minimum wage panel is dreadlocked,
She gets a lot of attention doesn’t she? And she’s not worth a minute of it.
Business leaders and some common sense people are proposing that health benefits, tips, paid leave, etc. be considered part of the employees compensation calculation. The loons on the left insist these are benefits that should be provided with a $15 minimum wage in order to reach a living wage. These people are crazy and have no business sense. If this goes to the ballot my guess it loses 55/44.
the best thing they can do is lead by example and start their own businesses paying great wages
.
***crickets***
$15 after SS and Medicare and stuff??
thanks
Seattle voters voted-in this marxist fool. Enjoy the ride, voters.
She’s the dope that encouraged Boeing employees to take over all production facilities with some sort of “occupy” maneuver, stop making war machines and build electric buses instead. For the people, of course.
This trend of the Democratic Party establishment being challenged by young, “diverse” socialists is just getting started.
I hope they do it....
The rest of the country needs to have example of what a $15.00 without deductions will do to your small business base and the cost of just about everything you buy...
Hang on a sec ..
Been to Seattle once. Have no plans to go back. Those folks are weird.
Minimum wage hurts mostly low-income workers.
“She gets a lot of attention doesnt she? And shes not worth a minute of it.”
Not only is she appallingly ignorant for someone who used to be an economics instructor she is simply not very bright either.
