White House blames fox for destroying Michelle’s garden

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal.

The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties.

The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching.

President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls.

The bushy-tailed visitor first made his appearance at the White House just before the October government shutdown, the Journal’s Carol Lee reports.

As Michelle Obama’s garden sat unattended during the shutdown, the fox “tore” through it.

Of course, that can’t stand.

The White House groundskeepers have avoided using any Second Amendment remedies to eliminate the threat to Michelle’s carrots, but they’ve reportedly laid out an array of metal traps to catch the fox — no luck so far.

They do dig holes, and that can "destroy a garden."

They are not going to dig holes in tilled planting ground -- it would cave in on them. They make their dens in the underbrush, or in the roots of trees, where they are hidden from casual eyes. My daughter had a whole family living under the deck of her above-ground pool in NJ. I've seen them hanging out in culverts in Wisconsin cities.

Sometimes it is good to cause a president to be distracted.

I suspect that the fat azz mooch is tired of her garden and any work on her part that's required in same, so they're killing two birds with one stone by blaming the “fox” as in Fox News, with destroying her veggies and thereby dumping the garden...unless that's really where the bozo has planted some of his enemies..you know, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer?

We’ve foxes in our yard, and they’ve never caused any harm. These people are ignorant.

Back when I lived up north several of the farmers had fox problems. They did not eat the veggies, but they and the ground hogs would burrow like no tomorrow. Quite a few of the locals would have land management permits allowing them to be killed out side of the normal season.

UH, unless they have a hot house, plants mostly flowers are just now being put out for sale. So she can’t have much of a ‘garden’. Even some of my early blooming bulbs were slow to start up this year because of the low temps, and Memphis area is not exactly DC type weather.
