Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) hates Sen. Mitch McConnnell so much that when a constituent asked him why he supports McConnells reelection campaign, Paul refused to answer and told the questioner to talk to him privately.
According to the Glasgow Daily Times:
After addressing about 30 people who turned out to hear him, the senator opened the floor for questions.
One constituent asked him why he came out in support of Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Louisville.
Paul declined to answer the question publicly, saying he would speak with her in private and explain his reason for supporting the senior senator.
The answer that Rand Paul wont publicly say is that he and his staff dont like Mitch McConnell at all, by they cut a secret deal with McConnell where they promised to help him get reelected to the Senate, and McConnell would in turn open Republican establishment doors, and help Rand Paul win the 2016 Republican nomination.
Since McConnell cut his deal with Paul, everything has gone wrong. McConnells approval rating is lower than President Obamas in Kentucky. His campaign has had numerous gaffes and blunders, and Sen. McConnell has lost three tea party endorsements, which is interesting because shoring up Mitch with tea party voters is why he made the deal with Paul.
The McConnell campaign has been such a disaster that it is almost like the Paul people are trying to sabotage the Republican incumbents campaign. When McConnell really needs Rand Pauls support the most, what he gets is Paul throwing him under the bus by acting as if his name isnt fit to be mentioned in public.

Maybe Paul is trying to undermine McConnell's campaign now that he got that law change through. But an endorsement of Bevin would have been nice!
Karma!
I thought Paul already publicly endorsed McConnell some months ago.
I can't imagine why he made a deal with McConnell, if he did. Anyone who is going to change things cannot have the blessing of the establishment. The cost to their integrity is too great. JMHO
Why do we live in an era when disagreement with someone’s political positions must be equated with “hate”? (or racism)
Gee, I will probably get flamed, but I am not really happy with either of those two ... but then I really do not get a say because, thank God, I don’t live in Kentucky.
I can understand the political exigencies that make it impossible for Paul to endorse Bevin, but all he had to do was decline to make an endorsement..saying something like "Both are good men, worthy of support, and I will work very hard to see that the nominee wins in November..",or some such. That would have spoken volumes..
Bevin made an appearance before a pro cock-fighting group. That lack of judgement alone should disqualify him. I would be 100% Bevin if not for that idiotic mistake. I still could not support Mitch.
Rand would have been better off not to endorse anyone.
Perhaps it is because we live in an era in which people have regressed in their mastery of the English language to where most political writers write on the fifth-grade level not because their readers can only comprehend that reading level but because most political commentators have not yet mastered sixth-grade English.
Note that hate is a four-letter word and that racism is a six-letter word whereas disagreement twelve-letter word (which may be beyond the ability of many pundits to count those letters.)
Rand Paul has been all over the place, he doesn’t seem to have good instincts anymore, and he isn’t looking much like someone who will turn the US around.
. . .
True... He started out as if he had a sense of who he is, but lately he’s been all over the map. It’s like he’s following the advice of establishment consultants or something, swinging this way then that.
When did Bevin do that? Call his campaign and tell him to do some damage control immediately!
Paul does as Paul is - which is a lot more canniving and cynical than people realize. The apple didn't fall far enough from the tree. What do you expect from a family whose base voter are youngies who will never ever support another Republican after a primary is lost? Just sayin
..
Brutal honesty:
American politics is such a rigged, dishonest game that NOBODY can get anywhere nationally without the establishment power brokers giving a green light.
My two cents, anyway.
“American politics is such a rigged, dishonest game that NOBODY can get anywhere nationally without the establishment power brokers giving a green light.”
You’re absolutely right. Which is why I have been advocating removing one of the biggest power brokers: Mitch McConnell.
” Rand Paul has been all over the place, he doesn’t seem to have good instincts anymore, and he isn’t looking much like someone who will turn the US around.”
He always was all over the map with no real core beliefs, the difference now is he’s making noises about running for potus and people are paying attention.
He’s just as much a nutball as his old man!

And he wrote letter in support of bailouts?
I cannot stand Mitch but this guy?
The anti-Rand people on here too often overlook a few things.
As I’ve said before, Rand Paul is more interested in his own political ambitions rather than what’s best for Kentuckians. Paul calculated early on that McConnell would easily win the primary, defeat Alison Lundergan Grimes in the general election and, thereby, McConnell would be in a strong position to help Paul’s presidential bid. Paul has obviously miscalculated regarding the Tea Party support and I’m not convinced that McConnell can beat Grimes. Rand Paul may regret playing politics instead of standing on conservative principles.
I completely agree. While I support the visions and goals of the TEA Party wholeheartedly, its candidates' judgment often falls way short. Perhaps Bevin wasn't going to win that primary anyway, but a boneheaded move such as supporting a cockfighting group just gives yet more ammunition for the darkside against TP-backed candidates as a whole.
DO NOT TRUST RAND PAUL!
A lot of people on here attacking Rand for not supporting Bevin never seem to tell the full story. If they don’t like Rand, fine ... but they should at least be honest about it and disclose the full story.
