Never been there but I do know Linden is a common carving wood.
The most favored today.
Butternut, Walnut and Sugar Pine are also popular.

"Unter Den Linden Strasse" = "Under the Linden Avenue."

The European Linden is in the same genus as the American Basswood.

Could it be translated as: “Under the Linden Trees street”?

Thank you!

(((hugs))))

“Unter der Linden” means “Under the Lindon Trees.

Unter der Linden Strasse is a large boulevard in Berlin lined with those trees. Of course, after the Allied Bombing, as in this picture, the trees are pretty much gone, but have been restored. It is like the Champs Ellyses in Paris, or Fifth Avenue in NY, or Commonwealth Ave in Boston.

There was an old song about it...that’s how I know.

Sure, but the trees are stunted and young, so the caption is curious.

I did indeed, Kathy! Reasonably good commutes, thanks. Mrs. MacNessa is doing well - going stir crazy at home. (Spring Break)

Crazy weather - we were down in the 20's early this morning. but my daffodils are almost finished due to the couple days of 80-plus degrees we had last weekend.

Good evening, Connie, and thank you for the tributes to our troops. *HUGS*

Did you have a good commute? Safe and leisurely?

We had a 5.1 earthquake today...one big, pretty short, shake! About 115 miles north.
