Judge Stays Most of Ohio Gay Marriage Ruling
ABC News ^ | 04/16/2014 | AMANDA LEE MYERS

Ohio officials must immediately recognize the same-sex marriages of four couples who sued over the state's gay marriage ban, a federal judge said Wednesday, while staying the broader effects of his ruling to avoid "premature celebration and confusion" in case it's overturned on appeal.

Judge Timothy Black stayed his ruling ordering Ohio to recognize the marriages of gay couples who wed in other states pending appeal in the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati. The appeals process likely will take months.

Had Black not issued the stay, all married gay couples living in Ohio would have been able to immediately begin obtaining the same benefits as any other married couple in the state, including property rights and the right to make some medical decisions for each other.

Black said the stay does not apply to the four couples who filed the February lawsuit that led to the court case and ordered Ohio to immediately list both spouses in each relationship as parents on their children's birth certificates.

In explaining the stay, Black said that although he doesn't think the state's appeal will succeed, there is still a chance the 6th Circuit could overturn his decision.

Jim,

How long are you going to tolerate this liar ansel12?

I said that the battle we need to fight first are probably the sins that we’ve already indulged in. Not the sins that we never asked for. Face it, we’ve cheered on a fatter and fatter government for decades. If someone other than Paul has bariatric surgery for it in mind, please point that someone out.

It’s your own frame of mind, unfortunately.

I am trying to direct the fight in the effectual direction.

THOU SHALT NOT STEAL
THOU SHALT NOT COVET

sound familiar???

Oh, when we do it on a gummit level it’s now ok?

Paul is only “revolutionary” in that he’s brought up these long ignored truths.

You are going to find yourself beating your heads on the walls of Jericho until you get the sins you’ve already long indulged OUT of the tent!

Nobody intentionally does that... you’re right it would sound silly.

But we’ve invited that camel of sin into our tent. A couple years ago I saw a letter that had been written by FDR to persuade churches to back government Social Security. The copy I saw was addressed personally to the pastor of an old Baptist church in Maryland, a church that I was visiting at the time I worked in Maryland.

Hackles should have gone up at the churches. This is a charity issue... why are we outsourcing to Caesar?

And I can say why they wanted to outsource to Caesar... because it would cut their own lives out of the loop. It gets so INCONVENIENT at times to contribute to charity. Just let Washington cut some checks, it is so neat and clean.

Except oops, it isn’t.

You aren’t here to convert us Christians to Christianity, you are here to try different strategies to get us to stop opposing gay marriage and libertarianism, and the Pauls.

While we practice Christianity, we also support Christian and conservative politics, we oppose social liberalism and the left’s war against America and God, and our politics represent that.

If you oppose gay marriage in the military, in federal employment, and immigration, then join us, if not, then keep fighting us and telling us that it is more Godly to allow gay marriage.

And so anyhow. It’s because people were so willing to believe in government, that government ever was considered to be worthy of approaching with a request that “gay marriage” be instituted.

And glory hog that it was, it stepped right up to that plate. Oh we’re the Bestower of Rights! Lets grant these Poor Unfortunate People what they so Deserve!

Phfft. If government wasn’t so arrogant, it wouldn’t be so capable of being evil like that.

Except, of course, that I am. I want you to repent. And repenting means to stop lying and stop stealing.

I should join your misdirection? When will you confess that you’ve been complicit in stealing and coveting? I shouldn’t join your stiff necked quest to refuse to confess that.

In same-sex marriage, this is not a freedom issue. It’s a recognition issue. Gays don’t need marriage. They just want a win.
So we will have to legalize polygamy, bigamy, incest and then deal with the legal implications of that. All because one special interest group wants a win.

Well yes, and well no.

But such sin was only possible because government got arrogant, and it only got arrogant because WE THE PEOPLE let it get arrogant.

Undermine the arrogance, and a great place to start is with the budget. Lots of civil servants should be fired which will actually HELP the economy.

It has nothing to do with sin or religion.
Government? Try a few judges.

Nothing to do with sin?

Nothing to do with religion?

Ah, you don’t believe that God is king of all, enjoins righteousness, forbids sin, wants our lives to be worship (and not just on Sundays)?

And what do these “few judges” see themselves as at the helm of?

I believe God told us to obey our earthly leaders because He put them in office.

God said to obey until the point of sin.

We’re paying taxes to enable sin.

What’s the conclusion?

What does God say?
Rom 13:1-7
(1) Let every soul be subject to the higher authorities. For there is no authority but of God; the authorities that exist are ordained by God.
(2) So that the one resisting the authority resists the ordinance of God; and the ones who resist will receive judgment to themselves.
(3) For the rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the bad. And do you desire to be not afraid of the authority? Do the good, and you shall have praise from it.
(4) For it is a servant of God to you for good. For if you practice evil, be afraid, for it does not bear the sword in vain; for it is a servant of God, a revenger for wrath on him who does evil.
(5) Therefore you must be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.
(6) For because of this you also pay taxes. For they are God’s servants, always giving attention to this very thing.
(7) Therefore give to all their dues; to the one due tax, the tax; tribute to whom tribute is due, fear to whom fear is due, and honor to whom honor is due.

Comparing polygamy to two male coprophiliacs on a rimming jab is beyond ridiculous.
