An Arizona mother will avoid jail time after she got high and drove nearly 12 miles with her 2-month-old baby on the roof of her car.
Maricopa County Superior Judge Cynthia Bailey sentenced 21-year-old Catalina Mariah Clouser on Wednesday to 16 years of supervised probation. She will have to serve 3 months in jail only if she violates the order, a local CBS affiliate reported.
Miss Clouser pleaded guilty in February to child abuse and driving under the influence of marijuana after her infant son was found miraculously unhurt in the middle of a Phoenix highway in June 2012, still strapped into his car seat, Reuters reported.
Miss Clouser, who was 19 at the time, had driven about 12 miles with the baby on the roof after reportedly smoking pot at a friend’s house. She was arrested after realizing the baby was missing and returning to the scene.
“I just want to say, I do know that what I did was horrible,” she said during the sentencing last week

True story..Probably 30 years back..a mother..was rushing out of the house..late for work...she had to drop off her infant at day care..it had been raining out..so instead of putting the car seat on the ground, she placed it on the roof of her car..inside the roof rack...she’d loading up her car..briefcase, papers, stuff..she jumps in..drives off...forgets the kid’s still on the roof..gets on the Long Island Expressway..IN RUSH HOUR...she’s driving along..radio on..impervious to all those around her honking their horns..FINALLY a cop pulls behind her, lights her up..she stops..she had no idea...could have been a tragedy..happily the kids was fine..
Baby should be given to responsible adoptive parents. She should be charged with child endangerment, impaired driving and sterilized. She’s already lobotomized. Dumb dope head.
More examples of “harmless” pot. These stories are becoming more and more common as pot becomes more and more common.

I didn't know one could avoid jail time by getting high and then stashing a baby on the roof of a car and driving. Good to know.

This mom is too stupid to be a mom, straight or high. The slug that bred her is probably worse.
And I bet that same manidiot believed her when she said, “no don’t worry babe, I can’t get pregnant.”

Actually, she was going opposite the rush hour..the cop said she was doing 60+ when he lit her up..Just a miracle that the luggage rack rails kept the seat on the rood..

Take that kid, and any other kids she has, and put them in Foster Care while mom spends 10 years in Prison.
What brand of car seat was it? They may have some bragging rights.
