Americans increasingly prefer Democrats on healthcare: Reuters/Ipsos poll

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Americans increasingly think Democrats have a better plan for healthcare than Republicans, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted after the White House announced that more people than expected had signed up for the "Obamacare" health plan.

Nearly one-third of respondents in the online survey released on Tuesday said they prefer Democrats' plan, policy or approach to healthcare, compared to just 18 percent for Republicans. This marks both an uptick in support for Democrats and a slide for Republicans since a similar poll in February.

Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius stepped down last week after overseeing the law's rollout, including the HealthCare.gov website's tumultuous first weeks, when many users were unable to access the system to purchase or research their insurance options.

But a surge of late sign-ups for health coverage pushed the number to over 7.1 million people by the end of March, and Sebelius said before resigning that more than 7.5 million were expected to sign up this year.

"In the last couple of weeks, as the exchanges hit their goals, news coverage has been more positive and the support of the Democratic Party on this issue has rebounded," said Ipsos pollster Chris Jackson.

"It's not that independents are moving their way, it's that Democrats who had previously been a little bit ambivalent in their support are coming back to the party," he said.

One-fifth of respondents said they did not know which party had a better plan, and another fifth said neither party did.

Of course people are going to be “increasingly” supporting the democrats giving them free stuff. Just wait until they learn the health care they were promised won’t show up.

I’m not surprised, since

(1) They probably did the poll during Springer so as to reach only the gibs me dat crowd, and

(2) The Republicans are too sack-less to propose the obvious alternative, ergo, they are complicit whether in fact or by intent.

Norm, I gave up answering polling questions. I found that by the second question, if not the first question, one could tell basically whom the poll was for. Most of the polling being done was robo call which wanted recorded answers. I only talk with live people these days and normally they must answer my questions first or I hang up as I do with all robo calls. My questions are ... Whom is the polling or what political party is conducting the poll? What is your telephone number? To whom, I need your full name please, am I speaking? Live persons hang up on me normally at question #2.

Reuters citing an online survey and plants in on Yahoo news. What a fairy tale. Pure propaganda from the state run media.

So 40% said neither party did (didn’t know means the same).

Versus 33% for democrats (which would basically be democrat supporters) and 18% Republicans.

This means squat.

What utter rubbish! The question makes no sense. Why would you ask which party has the best healthcare plan? Neither party knows anything about health care!

How stupid are we? I can understand asking about health care needs and wants of the American people. I can see asking people about their perceptions of what entails adequate heath care, etc. I can asking them where the greatest needs are for heath care, etc.

But asking people which party has a better plan? Of course the Democrats. They have no budget. They need no budget. They just spend your money!

Here's the best plan:

You get sick or injured you go to the Dr.

If you get real sick or injured he puts you in the hospital.

This is what you call a “placed” poll.

Don’t believe it for a minute.
