Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year.
Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20.
“He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of the program, I received a call from some of the prayer breakfast organizers saying that the White House was upset and requesting that I call the president and apologize for offending him. I said that I did not think that he was offended and that I didn’t think that such a call was warranted.”

I prefer to think Obama was “one Upped” .There was a superior voice at the podium. Obama was shown up. Carson is what Obama claims to be. Carson is what Michelle pretends and longs to be.
I had the opportunity to see and hear Dr Carson in the flesh. There was standing room only crowd. He has the rags to riches story that is not only real, but he is black.
He will not say he is running for President. I have seen him many times on the Cavuto show and like the time I actually saw him, he comes on like a pure politician but does not provide an answer.
I have concluded that he is the voice of corporate America that selected him to enter the campaign to discuss healthcare. He speaks of his solutions at length. He speaks of others involved, meaning he is not alone.
He is a brain surgeon...... perhaps the best brain surgeon. He therefore speaks with authority not possible from any one in the Obama administration. He knows his stuff.
He is in my view campaigning to educate America on healthcare issues and to become the chief, head, boss, of the coming reorganization to be wrought by Republicans.
The constant drumbeat of “they don’t have anything to replace Obamacare” from all democrats and their propaganda organs is proof they are scared of what is coming. They want to have the programs put out now so they can be attacked and destroyed.
Dr Carson is for them and certainly the Obama family a terrible nightmare. He and his wife and family are what the Obama’s pretend to be, but are not. Offended is a White House euphamism for scared

Seems like the ultimate example of pure inappropriateness next to telling off the SCOTUS at a state of the union address is when Jimmy Carter used the death of Mrs Martin Luther King to lambast Bush.
Carson has already been tapped with an IRS audit. So clearly, Obama in his pettiness is sending the doctor a message.
I’m sure obama has never known a man with dark skin who thinks the way DR. Carson does. He could not possibly have anticipated what Dr. Carson was about to say. He probably heard the words but could not comprehend them.
Thank you, Dr Carson. You are a wonderful example of a good person. The “offended” one is not worthy of any of our respect, let alone an apology.

That may be the only thing about Obama that makes sense.
“Glad to hear Obama was offended!” and that Dr. Carson didn’t apologize/back down.

Consider also that there have been a few episodes in public where he is practically incoherent. When one does NOT get dosages and timing correct, that is EXACTLY what a person on heavy meds looks and acts like. And sometimes, the correct dosages just aren’t enough.
We now know that JFK was a walking pharmacology experiment when in office. I have little doubt that the current occupant is not similarly ‘afflicted’.
Carson could have told them to have 0 kiss his ass, but 0 probably would have liked that.
It does dovetail with his history. I wonder who his doctor was in Chicago. Someone is chaperoning him. I’m wondering if Jarrett is providing more than advice.

Sounds about right. If he can not steamroll his opponents, Obama will then attempt to put his critics on defense by playing the victim card.
Just remember Senator Obama to Maureen Dowd, “don’t talk about my ears. I just want to put you on notice. I am very sensitive about...I was teased relentlessly about my big ears.”
By acting insulted, Carson was to apologize and WH would have used to destroy the message from the lunch.
