Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year.
Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20.
“He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of the program, I received a call from some of the prayer breakfast organizers saying that the White House was upset and requesting that I call the president and apologize for offending him. I said that I did not think that he was offended and that I didn’t think that such a call was warranted.”

Dr. Carson seems to be the “real deal”. But I ain’t gettin my hopes up cause too many “real deals” have fallen by the wayside.

The late comedian Steve Bridges did a comic sendup of the Obama back in 2009, and got the same response.

Beyond that quote, Carson goes on to say he shook Obama's hand after the speech and Obama thanked him for his participation. Sure sounds to me like Obama didn't know he was offended until Valerie Jarrett told him he was.
How is it that the people on the Left can offend us 24/7/365 and we are supposed to take it with a smile. Yet the SECOND we say anything they don’t like they are OFFENDED... Just give me a break...

And Carson is just so cool about it. Obama is nothing but a big crybaby. If Carson hurts his feelings, imagine what Putin does to him!
If he just would have apologized, the IRS wouldn’t have descended on Carson and his family.

I'm getting more convinced by the day that Barack Obama isn't bright enough to be offended even by things that any objective person would consider offensive. This is why someone like Ben Carson gets a call from White House long after the event is over -- and long after Obama has already shaken his hand and thanked him for his participation -- claiming that something about Carson's comments was "offensive."
I've watched Carson's speech at the National Prayer Breakfast several times, and if I were Barack Obama I'd consider it one of the most offensive things I've ever heard ... not because Carson went out of his way to offend anyone, but because watching that whole thing in the context of Obama's presidency pretty much confirms that Obama is an incompetent, ill-prepared jack@ss who couldn't even run a newspaper stand.
If you read what he said, I think he meant he didn’t want gangbangers in the ghettos having them. Well, good luck with that!

I’m glad Obama and his liberal/progressive cohorts were offended. That arrogant SOB needs more than a smack down. He needs impeachment and jail time.
What Lib EVER enjoys criticism? I remember Lorne Michaels, when asked how Republicans and Democrats felt about being lampooned on SNL, said ‘Republicans take it is good stride. Democrats are hurts that we would make fun of them’ (paraphrased). Democrats LOVE laughing at ridiculous sketches of Pubbies (I can see Russia from my house), but cannot figure out why their good friends would make fun of them. I also remember, when asked why he didn’t make jokes about Obama, Jay Leno saying ‘he’s not funny’. Never mind the ‘57 states’, etc, during the 2008 campaign. Obama has had a stranglehold on Big Media since before the 2008 election. And don’t forget Anita Dunn (Mao is my favorite philosopher) who said ‘the smartest thing we did during the 2008 election was to manage the Media’. Case closed. No balance in ANY of the Media.
