Nevada Cattle Rancher Wins ‘Range War’ With Feds

This is the power of social media. This is the power of personal video cameras. This is the power of citizen journalists. And the next time Senator Feinstein calls for “licencing” only “legitimate journalists,” that the 1st Amendment only extends to people who work at the New York Times, Washington Post, or MSNBC, remember this moment. This is how the bullies with the power, the cronies and their allies, are turned back.

Dianne Feinstein First Amendment Is A Special Privilege

This is not about a rancher owing the Bureau of Land Management money. This is about a federal government which just assumed control of public land years ago (not government land like military bases or federal courthouses – though the taxpayers do pay for these too) changing the rules and telling citizens to lump it. It’s about a central authorities passing regulations in Washington with little regard, indeed contempt for the little guy out in flyover country.

Well the little guy stood up this time and other little guys came to his aid. This is how it’s done. Film it. Share it. Get the word out.

And always remember your 1st Amendment right. It is the 1st Amendment for a reason.

(From ABC News)

However, today the BLM said it would not enforce a court order to remove the cattle and was pulling out of the area.

“Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public,” BLM Director Neil Kornze said.

“We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner,” he said.

The roundup began April 5, following lengthy court proceedings dating back to 1993, federal officials said. Federal officers began impounding the first lot of cows last weekend, and Bundy responded by inviting supporters onto his land to protest the action.

“It’s not about cows, it’s about freedom,”

Bundy can take the newborn calves and sell them to his kids for a dollar a head. They put their brand on them and in a year sell them at a livestock auction. The BLM might know whats going on but there’s not a damn thing they can do about it.

And what does he live on? Unless he enters into a barter existence then he's got to sell something. And even if he bartered his cows for goods and services the feds will to after whoever he traded the cow to, since it's legally their cow to begin with. Bundy may think he's won but it's just starting. If he still has his ranch once the dust settles I'll be very surprised.

I heard rumors they were destroying cell phones and confiscating weapons, but there doesn’t seem to be any video of it. These days, it’s “video or it didn’t happen.”

Bundy may think he's won but it's just starting.

If I may hazard a guess, I think Bundy knows exactly what he's up against. He isn't stupid.

That’s the dumbest suggestion I’ve seen yet. So now we’re gonna go full retard and kidnap innocent people to school the opposition.

Please stay home from the rebellion.

“If that happens... we need to be ready to truncate...”

Please, if you would, elaborate on what you mean by “truncate.” Thanks.

And neither are the feds, much as we'd like to think otherwise. They're not going to let him off scott free.

US Federal government is the greatest threat Americans have ever faced. In CW1it was Southerners. CW2 will emerge as the war against the American independents.

That will be very hard ot prove in court especially now. What did Bundy do that was in defiance of the court order? He allowed the BLM to round up the cattle. Not his fault that a few friends stopped by and scared the $hit out of the BLM.

Leaving lethal booby traps is a great way to destroy the good will Bundy’s built up with the regular people.

Leavign traps on the open rancge is a very BAD idea. Not to mention it brings NDOW into the mess.

Actually, they kinda have been ignoring the situation as much as they could, which is why he’s been running cattle without a grazing contract for 20 years. This round up was actually instigated due to threats of lawsuit by the Center for Biological Diversity.

This was a big b*tchslap for the Biologically Diverse.

Somebody needs to FOIA all of BLM’s internal and external communications regarding the round up and see just exactly whose been talking to whom about what.
