Hardly true. We have seen more abortion clinics closed in the last two years then in our history. This is great news. We see Mom’s staying home with their kids at a much higher rate. Things are bad but there are some glimmering lights.
unfortunate FReeper handle
Good to see other people catching up with Free Republic.
We had this pegged over 3 years ago!
In 1954, J Edgar Hoover published a book entitled, “Masters of Deceit”. It was an expose on the CPUSA. It spelled out their strategy, their tactics and their ultimate goals.
I read this in the early 90’s and even then, if a reader substituted DNC for CPUSA, it was a very scary read.
And here we are.
And like the Soviet Union, Cuber, North Korea, Venezuela . . . our elections increasingly serve to put oppressors into, or keep them in power.
The President has demonstrated he doesn’t need congress to write laws. Future Presidents will have the same power. How long before congress is rendered as irrelevant as the senate of the Roman Empire, and serves only to rubber-stamp executive decisions, to give them the patina of legitimacy?
There is little time. Article V.
Which is all true, but I’m going to throw in a caveat. There’s a reason why the federal government is arming itself to the teeth, and constructing an internal spying apparatus like the one at the NSA. They expect a revolt. And they’re going to gleefully use the force and power of the federal government to suppress it. Consider the comment by Bill Ayers about the need to kill 25 million Americans to accomplish the goal of truly transforming society, and add to that drones, missiles, modern police methods, and other weapons at their disposal. They’re itchy to get the job done. All we have to do is fire the first shot.
In this regard, despite her many character flaws, Ayn Rand got it right. The left got to where they are through subversion; the revolt will be accomplished with subversion. Rand’s idea of the productive going on a quiet general strike while letting the system collapse just might work. The state can confiscate my goods and force me to use crappy light bulbs, but it can’t compel me to do my best work. Slave revolts are generally put down hard, but the sullen slave, quietly undermining the efforts of the master, is much harder to defend against. Lies, deceit, subversion, slacking off, are all good weapons here. Eventually the system collapses from its own contradictions.
No aspect of life is now off-limits to government control. They have the final say in nearly everything now.
In other words, the government owns everything. They have the final say.
That sure looks a lot like communism.
Well, they’ve been working towards this goal now for 100 years. Sheeple just never bothered to stop it (Reagan tried) because it was gradual and full of “goodies” selfish twits care more about.
