The U.S. Supreme Court rejected an appeal Monday from a studio that refused to photograph a lesbian couples commitment ceremony, letting stand a New Mexico high court ruling that helped spur a national debate over gay rights and religious freedom.
The justices left in place a unanimous state Supreme Court ruling last year that said Elane Photography violated New Mexicos Human Rights Act by refusing to photograph the same-sex ceremony in the same way as if it had refused to photograph a wedding between people of different races.

This country is so going down hard.
This is the DC disease of endorsing ALL forms of hedonism.
(see spitzer’s call girl)
This is pushing the born that way myth/lie in order for the DC players to justify having sex as a power play sport.
The Gay Agenda is SO much more important than our religious freedom.
SO in other words you cannot say “ I can’t provide that service to you because it would violate my religious freedom” but you can say “I’m too busy” or the price is “$1 million”.
right?
They may be able to order that they take pictures, but they cannot force them to do a good job.
Use throw away cameras and take all of the pictures of just one of the couple. Make them out of focus.
Christian photographers should not take any wedding photos, if they must take all wedding photos. Take pictures of birthday parties, retirement parties, and family reunions etc. or find another line of work altogether.
First, Americans forced to purchase insurance, and now Americans forced to work/participate in celebration of an evil, ungodly sacrament directly against their values and religious beliefs.
America is so dead. Crossed the dark side.
Refusing to hear such a basic and important case, which has reached the highest level in the state courts, is a very significant failure to support the Constitution and the basic principal of religious freedom for Christians.
I’ll bet they would have taken the case if the photographers were Muslims. But it never would have gotten so far in the first place.
It’s not only a hit against religious freedom, it’s a violation of a free economy. No firm should be forced to take on a job if they decide they don’t want it.
Use throw away cameras and take all of the pictures of just one of the couple. Make them out of focus.
Then they would have a lawsuit. I would call and tell them I was to ill, and when they forced it I would show up in make up that made me look like death warmed over and throw up at their feet as I arrive saying "if you insist, I'll take the pictures but you must sign this waiver absolving me of any issues due to my illness". Let them deal with that.
That's a big part of a professional photographer's business.
Why should Christians stop doing something because someone else wants to force them to work against their will?
I think that used to be called "slavery".
This is just wrong - and it went wrong when politicians agreed to "protect" homosexuality the same as race.
“We The People” are no more. Now it is us and them - and getting worse!
In the long run, that would only hurt the business owners. Gain a reputation for doing crappy work, and the marketplace will do the rest.
And HOW exactly is two men having anal sex comparable to racial differences? Sex is VOLUNTARY BEHAVIOR, race is INVOLUNTARY STATE OF BEING. WTF~!!!!!!!!
“In declining states the leadership intuitively chooses the most harmful course of action.”- A Great Historian 1888
Could it be that a government which was big enough to be everyone’s nanny, has now been conscripted into being everyone’s bully?
There are enough quasi-conservatives left that I’d almost have to read a good reason into this, such as the chance to deal with a larger issue rather than a smaller one.
But for now it looks like all New Mexican businesses of faith are in danger. I hope it generates a condign reaction. That state is supposedly largely Catholic. Now maybe they will start caring about Jesus not just at their altars.
In a free country, Christian confectioners would not be forced to pack anybody’s fudge.
Now, brothers, behave yourselves.....
