How about this maroon focus on BRINGING BACK AMERICAN JOBS.

To heck with increasing benefits, for people without jobs.

Bring back JOBS.

A few more of these ‘summers of recovery’ and am certain the hole to climb out of will be deeper than middle earth.

Extended unemployment benefits and higher minimum wages will not do a damn thing to help the economy. I don't know if he knows that or not, but he doesn't care. He wants the Republicans to block these plans so that he can gin up support in the low-information community against the GOP. It's an election strategy that has nothing to do with economics.

The renewed focus on the economy comes on the heels of new figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, released Friday, that suggested the U.S. is rebounding after a tough winter. In March, 192,000 jobs were added and the unemployment rate remained at 6.7 percent.

Yeah, and a smouldering pile of embers suggests that a house fire has been extinguished, too. A large share of these created jobs were part time (thanks, Obamacare). A rebounding economy should have 300,000 to 350,000 new jobs a month at a minimum.

I guess that means “Recovery Summer 6” is on its way!

Like the first five movies in the series, it will be a flop.

"Populist pitch"??

First, so-called "progressives," by their own intrusive and burdensome policies, create a situation where economic recovery is slowed and people are hurting.

Then, they design a "populist pitch" prior to the 2014 election which, they think, will appeal to those who may not understand the implications of raising the minimum wage, but who are hurting and feeling the consequences of current and previous failed "progressive" policies, in order to win elections and continue their "transformation" of America from a place of freedom and opportunity to one based on Old World ideas of tyranny and oppression by political elites!

Now, that's "progressive," isn't it?

Meanwhile, those who spout such nonsense live in opulent style, as they "rule" over their victims.

Last evening I had the distinct displeasure of running into Mr Democrap at a party. After he determined in conversation I was not a dem, he began his diatrob starting with how can you people persist in saying that one can live on minimum wage. Immediately that told me the messaging has gone out from the dem central committee this is going to be a big issue NOW. I just said I worked for minimum wage for 5 years during college and I managed to get by and stand here now 50 years later. Then he switched off to the Koch (his word Coke) Brothers. He said it was immoral they spend so much money on conservative causes. I said, well, do you feel the same way about Soros who supports lefty causes? He is even a convicted felon, the KOCH brothers are not. Lastly, don’t equate the GOP with conservatives either. I am the latter as I believe them to be also. The last one unhinged him and he walked away.

These people are beyond help and we have no way of ever convincing them otherwise.

President Obama Shifts Focus to Economy

Yes, there are a few areas of the economy that are recovering (despite his leadership) and he’s figured out a way to screw those sectors up
