Onyx's husband (DrO) is now in the hospital with heart problems and other serious health issues. Prayer support would be greatly appreciated.

Dearest Onyx, Our prayers to you and DrO. I believe good thoughts bring good things to good people. I also am giving extra belly rubs to Jessa (my dog) for even more good energy.
A little late to the party, I see, but my prayers go up to The Father for your husband, and for you.
I’ve got a pattern in my life, and I want to commend it to you: when the devil tries to bring you down, take that as an opportunity to INTENTIONALLY move CLOSER to God. I mean just throw it all right back in the devil’s face.
Dive into the Bible like you need to read it to breathe.
Pray like The Almighty YHVH is your best over-the-fence neighbor.
Be MORE DEVOTED than you’ve ever been to Jesus.
Sit at your husband’s bedside and read the Psalms, Romans, The Gospel of John out loud.
I’m telling you, you take your weary heart and get it up on the altar close to the fire of God, and you’ll make old scratch wish he’d NEVER heard your name, EVER!
C. S. Lewis wrote a most wonderful line in “The Last Battle”; the seventh of The Chronicles of Narnia, and it stands as an exhortation to all the Saints of God:
“Come further up, and further in!”
To this I add my own exhortation; a paraphrase of Shakespeare:
“This above all: to Christ alone be true.”
God be with Ye.

Praying for DrO, that all his needs will be met by excellent doctors and staff and that the healing will begin.
Prayers for Onyx, that she may be peaceful and calm during this time, and have strength for the journey.
Onyx, I am so sorry to hear about your husband. His name has been added to my prayer list as well as you dear one. May the Lord wrap His healing arms around you both. May you feel His presence in every breath you take.
Update on Dr. O!
Please help me get the word out to the list.
Just heard from sweet onyx and she was very upset and in tears after hearing the news that Dr.O has cirrhosis of his liver. He is going through a new battery of tests and hopefully we will hear more of his prognosis very soon. The doctor DID say that he was responding very rapidly to treatment and was very encouraged by his progress. His touch of pneumonia is clearing up, his anemia is much better and his swelling is down. We are not sure how bad the heart problems are either at this point, but he is maintaining good vitals, so hopefully it can be managed.
The liver problem is potentially devastating news, but with our continued prayers and good medical care, I feel all things are possible. I got the impression that the doctor was hopeful too. We are not sure how bad the liver problem is at this point and onyx was in a bit of shock, but hopefully we will know more tomorrow. I will keep everyone posted.
Dr. O is just one of the sweetest, kindest, gentile, Godly men that I have ever known. I have never seen a man more devoted to his wife than he is with sweet onyx either. It just breaks my heart. We must continue our prayer vigil for his healing, comfort and grace. I know it means the world to onyx and Dr. O. They are so very moved, humbled and thankful for the prayers offered here on their behalf.
Dr.O is a great believer in the power of prayer and practices it daily. When I had cancer in 2010, he lit a prayer candle for me at mass each week and sometimes twice a week. He has prayed for many others here over the years when onyx has told him of other FReeper’s challenges as well. Always quietly and without fan fair, he offers a prayer for those in need. Now he is in need of our prayers and I know that the good people of Free Republic will lift a multitude of prayers to God for he and onyx.

Thank you. I am praying that they can find out the cause of the liver cirrhosis, as DrO doesn’t drink. I was just trying to read up on the disease and it sounds like other things like heart problems or diabetes can cause it. Hoping that if underlying cause can be found, that it can be managed successfully.

I’m hoping all who read this will pray for our dear friends and that God hears our prayers.
