Good gawd ... get back on your meds ... no one wanted anything BAD to happen to the children ... but we grownups ARE sick of cleaning up after idiots ... I am glad the kids are safe for now (until their idiot parents endanger them again!)... but I am still sick of cleaning up the messes of idiots. If you don’t mind, then send the parents a check to help offset the bill I hope they get! And I stand by my statement that there are too damn many liberals ... and yes I don’t care what happens to them. We just let the idiots take the key steps to destroying healthcare in this country ... throwing the baby out with the bathwater ... helping those who wouldn’t help themselves ... only to find out that only a very small % of the so-called uninsured have even signed up!!!

At sea generally the nearest vessel that can respond and give aid is expected to respond. This would be true if it we a Navy ship and a sailor needing medical attention the HM {Medic not an actual doctor} on the ship could not administer. Dehydration would be the most likely concern.

Yea, sometimes the unexpected happens at sea. It could have been one of the parents just as easily and the same response given. I've seen parents do far worse and far more dangerous. I like close to the Smokey Mountains. I was hiking about 18 years ago on a trail that was 5 miles up to the top of the mountain in very dense foliage. As I was coming down late that afternoon a woman came running up the trail and asked me if I had been to the top. I said yes. She said did you see two boys? I said no how old are they? She said 7 & 10 I think it was they had left that morning for the field at the top of the mountain. A man on horseback came by I talked to him and told him what was going on and he took off for the top. I took her to the Ranger Station.
Those two boys were in far more real danger than the parents and kids in that boat. When I was about 13 I was hiking with my dad and a family friend in back country. A 7 year old boy had disappeared on that same trail the day before. He went ahead of his parents and from what they think tried to take a short cut. He was never found. The two boys of the Mom I met were lucky they were located before dark. The mom did not realize the danger the boys were in. Adults get lost in those mountains and panic kills. So does hypothermia even in the summer.
The kids on the boat with their parents in this article are safe enough it's just illness happened. Kids live in areas everyday here in the USA with far greater dangers around them like persons who live in say southern Louisiana.

Jesus made it clear that all children have value, which is why I've done pro-life work for the last 3.5 decades, and why I know that "but" always comes next with people such as yourself. It is "suffer the little children". Not "suffer the ones we like and to Hell with the rest".

We took a cruise out of New Orleans. Western Caribbean.
Kid fell from the top deck by the pool down to the next deck. Serious back injury.
As we went to our cabin to sleep announcement said ship would go to Florida to get the kid to a hospital.
In the morning announcement said coast guard picked Jim up and took him to Miami.

The CG should charge such people as well. Again, CG insurance could become a staple such boaters.
Exactly, I’ve been on trails in the Smokys and realized all of the campgrounds in the area had been closed due to bears, except the one I wanted at the end of the trail. We were about 5 miles from the nearest people. It was great and my boys loved it.
The biggest real danger for those people is weather. If they know what they are doing and have the right equipment that risk can be minimized.
