The media should stop reporting what Harry Reid says

One of the most important jobs of the media is to be the so-called “fourth estate” — an unofficial fourth branch of government that holds the three official branches accountable. Ideally, this would take place when reporters provide a look at reality when politicians lie, despite pressure from the same politicians to not report the truth.

However, there is another way to hold a politician accountable: Stop taking the politician seriously by not reporting what he or she said. I propose that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has long passed the point of “unseriousness” to “harmful to society,” and this should be reflected in reporters and editors refusing to publish what he says.

The media transitioned from cheerleaders to regime operatives in early 2008.

I doubt it will change until the revolution.

The LSM needs to show Hairy running at the mouth followed by some ads for the Waffle House.

You seriously can’t expect a publicist to stop working for its client, can you?

Actually it's a "fool's gold" mine and has no effect on any adult with an IQ over 100.
Unfortunately, his constituency actually consists entirely of fools, so the effect is constantly detrimental to health of the Republic.

In any event nothing he says is ever news. So what's the point?

Undisclosed toxic propaganda is never useful.

I'd put that at 2000 after Gore contested the election. Rathergate in 2004 was a dry run.

EXACTLY!

To not report what Sen. Reid proclaims and expounds upon would be a huge dis-service (sic) to the electorate in general, and his own constituents might even unelect him if they knew half of what he says, does, and thinks!

At the very least, the general electorate might work a little harder to see that he's deposed as Majority Leader...

I don't know which is dumber, Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi, but let them spout off, just to show how stupid they are. But, to think about it, who are their constituents that vote them in?They've got to be even more stupid if that's possible.

IKR? They give him free political ads non-stop and have the unmitigated gall to try and pass that off as news?

Did any of these clowns even take Journalism?

Ah yes, the old “objective journalism” theory.
NEWS FLASH!!! Journalism is, was, and always will be politics. That is all.
And the First Amendment takes that into account.

It’s a shame McCain-Feingold and the rest of the unconstitutional “campaign finance reform” laws don’t factor that in, but why would they? After all, they are all intended to advantage the journalism monopoly at the expense of the poor man’s soap box. Which is what FR is.

Which reminds me - I have to make my donation.
