That stat is misleading, since when the public schools go downhill whites tend to send their kids to private schools, which then are not counted in those statistics.

Let see ... if the percentage of Asians has gone up 10 times in the last 40 years... that would mean it goes up 5 times every 20 years, or 2.5 times per 10 years.

so... just to make it simple, lets just say that the Asian population doubles every 10 years. The Asian population right now is about 5%

So at that rate in:

2024 they would be 10%
2034 they would be 20%
2044 they would be 40%

and sometime around 2050’ish Asians would be the majority. And yet, no one is talking about this.

A perfect example is the city in Texas where I live. The racial breakdown here is almost exactly 1/3 white, 1/3 Mexican, 1/3 black. And yet the public school (especially the elementary ) are almost 100% black and Mexican. Because nearly all the white families send their kids to private schools.

So-called “Latin-Americans” and “Hispanics” are 15% of the population surpassing African Americans/Blacks at 13%, I believe that happened in the 2000s.

And it looks like this has been recorded at least since 1970 when they were 9.1% of the population:

I don’t believe if they say the majority of school children are minority in 2011 in some states, they would have said the same in 1970.

“A recent study released by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate at Georgetown University revealed the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lubbock grew 69.5 percent between the last two censuses — from 80,472 in 2000 to 136,894 in 2010.”

And of course, a number of factors can be involved here.

Wiki is wrong, the US governments 2010 census site shows the following racial breakdowns in the 2010 census:

white alone - 72.4%

asian alone - 4.8%

if you add that all up it equals approximately 90%, which means there is a missing 10%. So lets look deeper:

ah! people of mixed races!

mixed white +2.4%
mixed black +1%
mixed asian +.8%

so the mixed race people (more than half of which identify as white) make up another 5% or so approximately, with the remaining 5% made up on native american indians, pacific islanders, and other tiny minority groups.

So, if you add the additional 2.4% of mixed race whites to the 72.4% who are white alone you get 74.8% of America is white as of the 2010 census.

but hispanic isn’t a race, it’s a nationality.

Many hispanics are white and identify as such, and when you look at those same numbers on the link you just provided you will see the real racial breakdown.

White 74.8
Black or African American 13.6
American Indian and Alaska Native 1.7
Asian 5.6
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander 0.4
Some Other Race 7.0

I am going to assume most of the 7% “some other race” are probably Mexicans, which as I pointed out before would have been placed into the white category. So if you add that 7 to the 74.8 you get 81.8.

And as I pointed out earlier in the thread in 1890 the white population of the US was 86.5%. Which means the white proportion of the population has done down 4.7% since 1890, which just happens to be nearly the exact percentage that the Asian population has gone up over that period of time.

So again, to me the real story demographically is the sudden surge in the Asian population in the US.

I would argue that by the 3rd generation, the vast majority of Mexican emigrants will be indistinguishable from say an Italian or other Mediterranean people. It will be obvious that they are not of western European heritage, but you will be hard pressed to guess exactly what their race is by looking at or talking with them.

Let’s hear some republicans state that it’s insulting to assume that non-whites don’t want limited government. Please, go on offense. Eliminate the racial divides and stand for something.

Well that's the dream, Latino's will be solid conservatives because of their strong religion. Asian's will be solid conservatives because of their family values and entrepreneurship. Blacks will be convinced to be more conservative because they are anti-homosexual.

But the numbers don't lie. All these groups are effective block votes for the Dems, pretty much everywhere.

Liberty remains the project supported mostly by the White majority. White Catholics voter 59% for Romney. Hispanic Catholics voted 75% for Obama.

You probably aren't going to move numbers like that much, certainly not enough to flip it over and get a majority of Hispanics supporting GOP candidates.

Demographics is destiny, and the Donks have figured out how to change the Demographics to suit themselves. They are, actually, "electing a new people".

They need a generation for those who lived under liberal law to die out. You cannot change them. You must start fresh from the start.

I hope that our youngsters (under 25 or so) will learn from these eight terrible years under a transition to socialism. We need to shrink the size of government. We need to shrink government spending. We need to shrink government mandates. We need more freedom and fewer commands from people in DC who don't know anything about our lives and don't care.

As you say, it's probably too late for anyone over 30 who is still a liberal; such people are both too set in their ways and too stupid to understand. We have to work on those young enough to learn.

Americans aren’t making much of a “next generation”; that is the problem in its most basic form.

NJ is skewed as well; a lot of the children are Hispanic or Asian. Part of it is white flight, and part of it is the refusal of the remaining whites to breed.
