Now that the deadline for signing up for the ironically named Affordable Care Act is upon us, its a good time to remember that just about everything our president has told us has been lets be nice and simply call it untrue
Despite his promise, not all of us who like our doctor can keep our doctor, period.
And millions of us who liked our old insurance plans cannot keep them, period.
I dont know about you, but my premiums went up, not down, despite President Obamas promises to the contrary.
And what did the president learn from all that? Not much. Just this month he told us that ObamaCare, is working the way it should. Does he think were so stupid that wed actually believe that, or and this is a much scarier possibility does he really believe his own nonsense?
Or to put it another way: Is President Obama delusional?
This is a subject Peter Wehner has just tackled in a smart piece for Commentary magazine, which runs under the headline, Obamas World of Make Believe. In it he makes the case that the president is unable to adjust his views to the way things are.
So when his worldview collides with reality, he often cant adjust, according to Wehner. He instead creates his own make believe world.
Weve seen it time and time again with the Affordable Care Act. Weve also seen this in Mr. Obamas dealings with Vladimir Putin, who with lightning speed has seized Crimea, threatens Ukraine, and whose top officials are now openly mocking the president (including with tweets ending with smiley faces). Yet President Obama insists that Putin is acting out of weakness, not out of strength in attempting to take control of Crimea. This is an effort to seek comfort by engaging in an almost clinical level of delusion.
Barack Obama came to office with a vision of how he would fundamentally transform America and how his shining magnificence would not only stem the rise of the oceans and heal the planet but also would make the rest of the world love him. Vladimir Putin, apparently, didnt get the message. Neither have most of the other leaders of the real world. Neither have most of the regular folks, either.
None of us knows if Mr. Obama actually is delusional or if hes just a politician who says things to sound strong. Did he say his healthcare plan is working the way its supposed to and Putin is acting out of weakness because he really believes those thing or because he needs to sound confident in a desperate effort to bring up his poll numbers? It must be tough for Mr. Obama, coming to office with so many acolytes telling him that he is The One, the Messiah only to learn that sycophants flatter but rarely tell the truth.
Peter Wehner ends his excellent piece with this: For Barack Obama, the world is made of faith, and trust, and pixie dust. The good news is that none of those things will help his fellow Democrats this November.
Bump
I’d say “criminal” or “treasonous”...
I believe it is working the way it should. It was intended to destroy the private market in insurance, wrest control from insurers and providers and turn it over to the government and take control of hospitals and how doctors practice. So I agree w/zero, it is working as intended.
lets be nice and simply call it untrue

With the shape the country/world is in as a result of Obama, I think we’re beyond ‘being nice’ .... let’s speak the truth and say the words that best describe Obama and what he does ... LIAR & LIES.
Definitely political .... deliberate, not delusional.
Try commie in between .
Obama is a an ideologue incapable of gaining any wisdom whatsoever. He is incapable of learning from his mistakes because of his personal immaturity and arrogance. His ideology governs every move he makes.
Agreed.
Fascist power play, nothing more.
Obama are is a bad answer to an existing problem.
However, I can’t think of anyone I know who is covered by any doctor they wish to see.
Also, our current healthcare system is totally broken
It began its breakdown with the advent of insurance companies. We have allowed ourselves to be destroyed and opened the door for socialized medicine in America.
Anyone who thinks our medical system was working never knew anyone who needed medical care.
If we impeached him or removed him from office under the 25th amendment, then is Biden any less delusional?
IMHO our entire government is insane. The country is being run by people like Obama, Biden, Reid, Pelosi, McCain, McConnell, cry-baby Boehner, Sheila Jackson Lee, Hank Johnson... These lunatics keep getting elected.
Is there any hope for a people who would voluntarily choose to have these clowns represent them?
The big mistake even the smartest conservative makes is that Obama is acting in what he believes is the best interests of the United States. He’s the product of his anti-American and anti-capitalist upbringing (Frank Marshall Davis, Bill Ayres, the Muslim Brotherhood) and he was put there for the express purpose of turning America into a 3rd World $hithole.
I was married to a sociopath for 17 years, and I can say with certainty that, in the end, their motivations are irrelevant since the results are the same.
He is politically delusional...among many other psycho traits.
And to that add ‘evil’.
If you don’t know the answer to that question then you haven’t been paying attention.
Ding, ding, ding, ding! We have our winner!
That’s nonsense. There are millions upon millions of Americans who have needed and used healthcare for many many decades.
You are the one not thinking clearly.
Our healthcare system was not broken.
It was however skewed by government interference and you are simply repeating media dogma that was intended to prepare you for something new.
And now you have it.
I believe you fail to give the Hildabeast her share of the blame.....The middle east the root of all the problems in the world today....and it was SHE who screwed that up ROYALLY...! (mho).
Oh, it's not nonsense. It IS working the way it was intended. People who had insurance no longer do. People who are paying for their own insurance are paying more while those getting "subsidies" (thieving from their neighbors) pay very little. But they both get "very little" in coverage as well.
All as it was intended.
I'm surprised Goldberg doesn't state the obvious -- it is working the way it should. He knows that.
