Vehicles depending on redox reactions without ignition do not perform so well in cold weather?
Why were the Chemical Engineers not informed of this?

Well, I guess that is another good reason for people to celebrate being liberated from their jobs. They don’t have to worry about getting the Volt to the office or factory every day. SMILES ALL AROUND, right?

Half as far as the posted distance? Or, is it half as far as the warm weather distance, which is half as far as the posted distance?

That’s IF they start.
And if you turn off all accessories.

Winter weather, Pittsburgh hills, usual traffic problems here...lucky if you get a couple of miles. Oh and dress warm and carry several blankets. You WILL BE COLD.

Lol.
Obviously.
Batteries rely on a chemical reaction to supply power.
Chemical reactions slow down when the temp drops.

Perhaps electric cars will some day be practical (and I still won’t buy one from GM!), but they are not ready for the street today. They’re okay for the golf course and retirement communities, but that’s it.

Next thing: cold weather is uncomfortable for humans, we require heaters and such.

Even their test was BS to come up with only a 57% drop in driving distance.
They didn’t test in in real conditions with someone driving, so no heat or defrost was used. That would drop it another 50%.
Eric Bolling tested one in NYC in winter, the farthest he got on a charge was about 15 miles and he was freezing inside of it.

Half as far as the posted distance? LOL. That should be the epitaph of the entire Obama presidency.

I’m sure most libs wonder why you just can’t recharge the batteries off the wheels as they turn.

Is there not one engineer or even a technician of any capacity at the AAA that could have warned them about their impending public embarrassment? Even Ray Charles saw that one coming!
Dang, I learned that in 1960 when the batteries did not last as long in my grandpa’s transistor radio. And to boot, he even informed me of the anomaly!
