Rand Paul: Republicans Need to Soften on Social Issues
Breitbart ^ | 3-16-2014 | Warner Todd Huston

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is warning Republicans that if they expect to be relevant in the future and grow the party they will have to soften on social issues.

In an interview with vocativ.com, Paul said he had "sort of a Jeffersonian belief in unity, peace and commerce with all" and that the best way to build the GOP for the future is to include people with whom they don't agree on every issue.

"I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, will have to agree to disagree on social issues," Paul advised. "The Republican Party is not going to give up on having quite a few people who do believe in traditional marriage. But the Republican Party also has to find a place for young people and others who don’t want to be festooned by those issues......"

People who have no moral values never stick to any other value once elected....that is why we have so many disgusting rinos who are destroying our freedoms daily.

I will not vote for an immoral person and whether you are pro-life or pro-murder tells me everything I need to know about the character of those that want me to vote for them.

The Pauls' are disgusting.

My preference would be that laws against sodomy be enacted. Civil unions is that absolute limit of my tolerance. What business is it of mine if two people choose to enter into some civil contract?

Politics matter, fighting for conservative candidates matters.

“The same week, the Republican National Committee decided that it was time for the national party to wade back into the pro-life waters after a perceived hiatus from using it as a platform issue. A “Resolution on Republican Pro-Life Strategy” formally re-established abortion as a 2014 election issue for the party and seeks to push back on the “war on women” rhetoric that Democrats have made synonymous with the pro-life movement.

The RNC clearly believes once again that a prominent pro-life position plays well with voters. Perhaps the national party has taken note of what’s happening at the state level. Twenty-four states enacted 53 anti-abortion measures in 2013 alone.

Research from the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute shows that in the last three years, states have enacted an unprecedented 205 different abortion restrictions. This was made possible by the fact that over half of the states in the union have pro-life governors and pro-life majorities in their legislatures.”

Financial issues interest me. Like taxes and spending which lead to overwhelming control by the Federal government.

If it really interests you, then you need to learn how to win politically.

Voters decide, and social conservatives vote conservatively, social liberalism only leads to more big government, greedy, short range view, what's in it for me voting.

Social conservatives created this nation and it's economics, and it is the social liberal advances of the last 50 years that is making it impossible to maintain it.

Social issues do not affect my life directly. What affects my everyday life is monetary policies, tax policies and regulations imposed by the government. The other day
I witnessed two lesbians at Seatac airport openly doing
PDA. It was disgusting to watch, but what affected me
more directly was the taxes levied on my plane ticket.
I can ignore the lesbians, but not the taxes.

>> I don’t care much about social issues.

You care enough to mention it on a forum that spends quite a bit of time discussing social issues.

The argument could be made that Planned Parenthood is an effective, efficient abortion mill. This has financial value obviously omitting moral value.

The libertarian should certainly care about life in the womb, and be concerned about law that forces the citizens to service, sanction, and support homosexual behavior.

Deal with it, Rand.

We aren't shutting up.

We aren't giving up.

And we aren't selling out our principles because some Rino beltway bull$hi*ting consultants tell us that we should.
