totally agree. There are a few deal breakers but past that I want someone looking to support such ideas.

Passionate about the 2d amendment? While I’m glad, that passion sure hasn’t translated into decent carry laws for Texans. You still can’t carry a handgun openly in TX and the CHP is one of the most expensive in the country. And it is more difficult than average to obtain.

That puts TX in a league with oh, Illinois, when it comes to carry laws.

I’m not interested in disparaging or attacking Rick Perry. Any vitriol I have would be better spent on other uniparty candidates such as jeb or jabba the christie or piaps. That said, I’m done showing up for candidates that are only marginally better than the ‘rat.

So why would I want to show up for Rick Perry? He’s got a questionable record on amnesty, he’s a corporatist, and his record on gun freedoms is sort of ehhh.

He must know in advance that Cruz is not running.

To his credit, Newton Gingrich was the only 2012 candidate who knew how to handle the “news” panelists, but in the end it wasn’t enough.

If our candidate can’t handle a “bunch of communists moderating the debates” what can they handle? Reagan would make mince meat out of them all with a smile. Nice is not enough. Honorable is not enough. Our candidate has to lead with no apologies and force of conviction head on. Otherwise we just end up with another “compassionate conservative” which is neither.

Perry only made one mistake in front of those moderators. One mistake.

Never.

15 states now have instate tuition fees for illegals but they all have stipulations attached. I believe 9 more states are in the process.

And don't forget, the Federal government mandates that they be provided with an education from kindergarten through 12th grade.

FWIW, to a lot of constitutional conservatives, the major problems in the US begin with being invaded and can only end when the invasion is stopped. I'm not familiar with Rick Perry's attitudes toward that, but if he doesn't demand that the border be enforced and all invaders sent home, I'll never vote for him.

It's not just another issue. It's the one that needs to be solved, or we're doomed.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.

If it is that because now I have been forced, at the point of a gun, to have a heart, I should support him it won't work. It just makes me hate him for providing cover for those with the rifles.

He burnt his conservative card long ago. He's yesterdays toast, and I shouldn't have wasted any of my life even commenting.

To paraphrase Perry, 'you have no heart'.

That should help you out with understanding where he is on the illegals issue.
