CNN has axed Piers Morgan from his prime time interview slot after years of terrible ratings and lacklustre reviews, punctuated by flashes of controversy as the spiky former newspaper editor sparred with celebrities and clashed with US culture.
Mr Morgan, the British former editor of the Daily Mirror, styled himself as an outspoken and aggressive critic of US gun legislation, engaged in public spats with potential celebrity guests and was an ubiquitous presence on Twitter, sniping at enemies and stirring up debate. Here are some of his more controversial moments:

● It is hard to imagine just what Mr Morgan thought would happen when he invited Alex Jones, noted conspiracy theorist, gun advocate and anti-government radio host, on to his show to talk about the right to bear arms after the July 2012 mass shooting in a movie theatre in Aurora, Colorado. Oh, and to stir up the passion further, Mr Jones was behind a petition to deport Mr Morgan.

● On the subject of guns, Sarah Palin, former Alaskan governor and vice-presidential candidate, found a novel way of turning down a request to appear on Mr Morgan’s show.
“Oh dear Piers, thank you so much for all your invitations to appear on your shambolic show,” she wrote on her Facebook page, accompanied by a picture of her with a bear she had just shot, with the caption: “Piers, kind of busy right now!”
Mr Morgan replied with a tweet to Ms Palin: “Being called ‘shambolic’ by @SarahPalinUSA is most amusing. I wonder if she can see irony from her house?”(continued)

Jeremy Clarkson is raging, screaming twit most of the time. His reflexive anti-Americanism is really grating but I would pay to him punch Piers Morgan.
Geez, maybe the producers of Top Gear can get Morgan and Clarkson to engage in a demolition derby as one of the stunts they do that show. Put Clarkson in an American made Ford F-250 and Morgan in a Fiat 500 that had a 40 pound propane tank in the back seat. The first driver that has a vehicle explode is the looser

What is funny is that Piers did attract lots of attention for his radical liberalism.
That should have helped his ratings.
But, even all the controversy and media coverage could not save his unwatched show.
Liberalism fails every time it is tried.
How did he get here? Did The Communist News Network run out of liberal a$$holes from this Country and decide to import a giant one from Britain?
He hacked the voicemail of a famously dead young girl, in order to make a story and tug at the heartstrings of the distraught parents.
By me, you could never prove that he’d ever been on.
He’s a bed wetting tart eater.
God only knows what they were smoking at the time. I mean, Morgan was a disgraced editor of a left wing populist British daily newspaper. He had no experience of television that I know of. He had very little of interviewing people. He was up to his neck in allegations of phone-hacking, photograph-doctoring, intimidation and trespass and had to get out of the country pretty pronto, but why any US based TV station would give him a job is beyond me.
