According to reports from Politico, Southwest Florida Congressman Trey Radel is resigning from Congress.
Radel pleaded guilty to cocaine possession in November and was sentenced to one-year probation.
He also just completed a stint in rehab.

I just realized their must be eskimo sisters too. Like Michelle Obama and Reggie Love.

“R u my Eskimo sista?” Good for tshirts.
Great news out of FL: Connie Mack IV is *not* running for his old House seat:
“Politics1.com @Politics1com
FL CD-19: Ex-Cong Connie Mack IV (R) will not try to regain his old seat in upcoming special election.”
He may have been scared off by a poll of FL-19 Republicans that not only showed him trailing state Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto, but also having very high negatives: www.saintpetersblog.com/lizbeth-benacquisto-is-gop-voters-top-choice-to-replace-radel-new-poll-finds
Byron Donalds was not included in the poll.
It’s annoying Byron isn’t being talked about. He came out as a relative unknown last time and got a hugely positive reception, but got outspent by a lot in the primary.
That’s a relief.
What’s the skinny on Benacquisto?
No idea, but I’m sure that she’s better than Mack.
Believe me, they can always be worse.
We were just talking about Pete Domeneci having impregnated the daughter of his fellow Senator Paul Laxalt back in the late 1970s or early 1980s (”more than 30 years ago”). Here’s an article on Domeneci’s acknowledgment of the affair and his paternity:
http://www.abqjournal.com/domenici.htm
Please note this line from the article: “Statements given to the Journal by Domenici and the sons mother, Michelle Laxalt of Alexandria, Va., identified the son as Adam Paul Laxalt, a Nevada lawyer.”
Well, a grandchild of Senator Paul Laxalt is running for Attorney General of Nevada. His name? Adam Paul Laxalt: http://www.adamlaxaltforag.com/about
Either this is one huge coincidence, or our likely NV AG nominee (he’s the only Republican who has announced so far, and the filing deadline is March 14) has excellent political genes.
I saw that Laxalt’s grandson was listed running for AG on poltics1.
I didn’t make the connection with this though! Politics1 doesn’t mention that he’s the son of Domeneci!
It should come as no surprise that Adam Paul Laxalt doesn’t mention his parents in his campaign website. Lots of stuff about his grandfather, though.
Wikipedia does identify him as Sen. Domenici’s son.
And more importantly, the Wikipedia article links to an article from the Las Vegas Review-Journal that states that fact unequivocally:
http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/adam-laxalt-run-attorney-general-against-ross-miller
But some Republicans, including six members of the Laxalt family, already endorsed or contributed to Miller, a moderate who has crossover appeal because of his actions in office and his fathers bipartisan legacy.
Neena Laxalt, who is Adam Laxalts aunt and Paul Laxalts daughter, is a Republican but has endorsed Miller.
Bob Miller had a "bipartisan legacy"? I guess aunt Neena is off the Xmas card list. Foolish disgusting traitors.
So did he even know Pete was his father till recently? Doesn't sound like it. The article surmises perhaps the news was broken so it would be old news by the time he was ready to run for office. I find that a likely circumstance.
I really hope he wins and ends the career of the pig scion Ross Miller.
I’m sure the newspaper will be working hard to identify members of the Miller family who will endorse Laxalt. Yup, any moment now...
(BTW, if I ran for office, I doubt few of my family would endorse me, because they’re not Conservative. My father’s sister is an extreme leftist and supporter of La Raza).
The peace and freedom party lady?
“Im sure the newspaper will be working hard to identify members of the Miller family who will endorse Laxalt. Yup, any moment now...”
Yeah. There might not be any cause I think rat political families make sure everybody is brainwashed and loyal or at least to STFU if they’re not. Ever hear of Kennedy’s going GOP?
Meanwhile any ***hole can say “I’m a Republican but I support Mr. Commie Pants democrat because he’s a ‘moderate’ fiddle dee dee”.
Since the witch went out of her way to state publicly that she’s supporting some rat over her own kin (being for the rat privatively is one thing, but actively helping him?) I doubt that she’s actually a Republican, perhaps a literal RINO like John Warner. At least her dad isn’t alive to witness her disgrace.
No, my half-sis is P&F, though a self-declared Communist. She is close to our aunt (I’m not). Both an extension of my grandmother, who loathed Republicans (and she knew I was one). Curiously, my grandmother used to lambaste both President Reagan and Sen. Domenici (and I would repudiate her attacks).
Actually, her dad is alive to witness it. Sen. Laxalt turns 92 in August. I’m sure there will be some “discussions” going on in-family about walking back said endorsements. As for Ross Miller, it would be one thing if he were running for reelection, but all he’s doing is job-swapping (presumably to keep himself viable in 2018 for either the open Gubernatorial seat or against Sen. Heller). If Miller had real courage, he’d take on Gov. Sandoval this year, but he knows he’d get shellacked. The Dems don’t even have a serious candidate.
Right I thought that was your sister, I guess I don’t recall if you ever told me about your aunt before.
Anyway, I apologize to Senator Laxalt for prematurely burying him! Whoops!! I had an Al Gore moment.
All the statewide rats are term limited and all but one is office swapping, it’s disgusting.
SOS Miller, running for AG.
Treasurer Kate Marshall, running for SOS.
Controller Kim Wallin, running for Treasurer.
AG Catherine Cortez Masto, must not like dealing with money or else she’d be running for Controller to complete this near perfect circle jerk.
Swept in, in 2006. All reelected in 2010. And 3 of 4 could still be there next year. Revolting.
I think I mentioned my aunt, just not regularly. She inherited her mother’s misguided political views.
