According to reports from Politico, Southwest Florida Congressman Trey Radel is resigning from Congress.
Radel pleaded guilty to cocaine possession in November and was sentenced to one-year probation.
He also just completed a stint in rehab.

The GOP Establishment sure seems to be more aligned with the DNC than anything else.
Is it possible he is still struggling with addiction demons?
The Florida media is gloating....the GOP has forced a conservative out of office, whereas Democrats who commit similar offenses are made into heroes (see any Kennedy).
Why now? Is the other shoe about to drop?
UH——I’m having trouble trying to figure out why we would want anything to do with this guy………I’m thinking he thought he can hide his problem by calling himself a Tea Party guy. They’re not generally known as cocaine addicts………...
Conservatives have to know that misbehavior will be publicized. Cocaine use is prohibitive to representing constitutional conservatives. He did the correct thing. Conservatives have time to find someone to take his place.
I’m sorry, but I could not support someone in political office who is an admitted felon.
It is sad, and I sincerely wish him well and God speed, but we need to remember our principles. It is forgetting about them and winning for winning sake that has got us in this mess in the first place.
Yeah that would be my suspicion. Addiction recovery is hard enough as it is and its even harder when you’re surrounded by other users.
With the utter lack of morality in DC it wouldn’t surprise me one bit that others would deliberately attempt to shove him off the wagon.

I’m not defending this guy at all.
That said, my comment is directed to the FACT that the GOP Establishment acts more like the DNC when it comes to attacking real Conservatives.
The Florida GOP Establishment went completely insane when Charlie Crist was soundly rejected by Florida Conservatives and went after ALLEN WEST as a result.

He’s my congressman. I supported him enthusiastically. No more. He’s an idiot. Tossed away a great importunity. Now he’s nothing but a liability. Will be replaced by another conservative.
He could run for Mayor of Toronto.
