Heres a new angle on that crazy Richard Sherman interview: Erin Andrews ruined everything.
Huh?
Kevin Harlan, best known for doing play-by-play announcing for CBS and TNT and getting all throaty and excited when somebody dunks the ball and/or when he can say ass on TV, was on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh yesterday talking about what else? Richard Sherman. Harlan, to his credit, tried to take a different track with his analysis of the situation, calling out sideline reporter Erin Andrews rather than Sherman/Crabtree/the media/society/Twitter.
The most salient parts:
I dont know if [Andrews] was unprepared, her reaction was more about her than the guy. It was very odd. If you go back and look at that interview, her reaction was more like drama queenish.
If Michelle Tafoya or someone like that were interviewing, I cant help believe that she wouldnt have asked the appropriate followup and been a little bit more composed. Whereas the gal that was asking the questions was almost like she was on a stage. It wasnt about her, its all about him, and the more I think about it, the more irritated I get.

I thought Sherman was a jerk but then I saw some interviews with him as well as listened to the “wired” game sounds.
He’s actually intelligent and articulate. I think he got caught up in the heat of the moment.
By the way, right before the Erin Andrews interview, he gave her a big hug. He seemed to me more like a big kid than a jerk after watching the tape in it’s entirety and not just the Andrews interview.
I think anyone that has played sports and has won a big game against a fierce rival can identify.
Also, Michael Crabtree had started an incident with Sherman at a charity event earlier this Summer and the two had to be separated that led to the bad blood between them.
Sherman actually went to shake Crabtree’s hand after the game and congratulate him on a well-played game when Crabtree hit him in the face, which I can also understand.
Sherman’s team just won the biggest game arguably in franchise history and Sherman was high on adrenaline and a seasons worth of emotion came out all at once.
Here he is when he isn’t jacked up after a game:

Quite a different guy then what the media has been showing us.
Sherman graduated in 2010 from Stanford (Played for 49er coach Jim Harbaugh) with a degree in communications and returned for his final year of eligibility in order to begin a Masters degree.
He wasn’t drafted until the 5th round, so he plays with a bit of a chip on his shoulder, but he is arguably the best cover corner in the NFL.
Sherman is being made out to be the bad guy, but there are two sides to every story.
I think the bottom line is that Sherman was ramped up on adrenaline and the words were coming out of his mouth faster than he could think them.
What did she do wrong?
Why she should have torn off her clothing and flung herself at his feet ready and willing to indulge his every whim with enthusiasm
She is after all only a degenerate weak and pliable white woman who he as her moral and physical superior is legitimately entitled anything he wishes from her comeliness given she represents all evil ever done in the recorded history of the planet especially any transgression towards those considered non white or God forbid....”tropical”
The fact she did not just proves how entrenched her bigotry must be for her not to realize immediately what was expected of her and drop to it.
Pity....she coulda been a Kardashian.....someone get her the memo
“...been a little bit more composed. Whereas the gal...”
Irony rarely misses a chance to smack a jackass.
I cannot believe people are still talking about this nonsense!

Fo shizzle, my nizzle!
Can’t we talk about something important like:
Bieber
/s
This is like listening to the VIEW or THE TALK.
I watch her on CNN but with the sound off. She’s pretty. What’s her crud-entials? Anything other than her face?
Daughter of a sports reporter, she’s 5”10”, former model and college cheerleader, frequently accompanied in social situations by prominent athletes, but careful to avoid obviously sexual situations. “Telecommunications” degree from U of Florida.
I don’t know whose idea it was to have female sideline reporters, but it was stupid when it started, it’s stupid now, and this episode is a good example of why it’s a bad idea.
He threatened a woman with physical violence on national TV. So much for that “communications” degree, which we know is one of the most academically rigorous of post secondary educational pursuits./sarc

I get a kick out of all the wannabes ballplayers on site defending this guy as some kind of hero. Bunch of jocksniffers.
My reaction was pretty much the same as Andrews’.........”what the Hell is he talking about?”
LOL.
Erin did great, but Richard rocked the house.
I saw a few minutes of the pre game hype that followed him around a bit with the mic on, I had no idea who he was before that.
It was the first completely honest, no holds barred onfield interview I think I’ve ever seen.
Loved it. And love the faux outrage it has induced perhaps a bit more.
And let’s tell it like it is, Sherman doesnt get a hand on the ball, game over, 49ers win.
Obviously this guy decided it was more acceptable to be thought of as “sexist” rather than “racist.” Therefore he felt safe in blaming the chick.
Rush had nothing but glowing things to say about him, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt until he played the race card. My outrage at that is anything but “faux.”
