federal law specifically prohibits utilizing the National Instant Background Check System (NICS) to create a registration list.

And I offer this brief response to reflect our mutual faith that this will be the case...
Love the "Yeah right" guy. I'm sure they are not "create[ing] a registration list" but I'm
just as sure the systems are being backed up
before the buyer and firearm information is purged.
If I am right (and you
know I am), that right there is registration done behind your back...

Somebody in CT has to be enough of a smartazz to plop down a package of Wrigley’s and tell them they want to register their gum...

Good for him. Speak on brother. Sadly, a majority of Amerikans are not listening. They are in line for those sales at WalMart or down at the free food handout.
Our church works at a local soup kitchen/food bank. The other week, one of our men saw a couple park their brand new Caddie down the street and walk up and eat the free meal, then get their bags of free food. They then walk back to the Caddie and drive off. You know what I am saying. If you can afford a brand new Caddie, you can afford your own food.

My adoptive mom grew up in Austria during WW2, and I’ve heard the story many times, when the nazis came to their village and asked “who has the guns?”, friends and neighbors they’d known all their lives immediately pointed to her father’s house.

I'm afraid there would be even more of that in the good ol' USA when the gun grab goes into effect.

The 4473 completed for the NICs system is required to be kept on file by the seller damn near forever and the BATFE can inspect those records on demand.
While it does not account for private transfers after the initial purchase, it does amount to de facto registration.
I have had the FBI come to me years after a purchase to inquire about a weapon I had bought and subsequently sold. they had the 4473 in hand

What good are having guns if you never put them to their intended use?

What good are having guns if you never put them to their intended use? Ummm.... I bet many loyalist sycophants in Obama's "Civilian National Security Force" are thinking the same thing.
And let me be the first to say, "their intended use is legal and lawful handling, storing, acquiring and utilization."
Now as for the 2nd Amendment, we all know it's to protect and preserve the other 9 Amendments in the Bill of Rights, as well as the rest of the Constitution.
Too early or too late? That's the conundrum. Timing is everything and hindsight is always 20/20. It's definitely not a good idea to be too early or too late. Americans traditionally err on the tardy side.
People are still watching, praying and trying to use the Constitution (in spite of the politicians) to get America on track. That's what I'm doing and I encourage others to do the same.
Oh, and don't forget to buy more guns and ammo! :)

You know they dont care a bit about federal law though. Aye, Fast and Furious proves that.
The NSA-spying proves they don't care about constitutional law either.
The IRS-targeting proves they will use every method to stymie those whose political ideologies the ruling caste does not agree with.
In short, it's highly likely that they already have a database (or equivalent) that they will exploit when/if TSHTF.

That wasn't a free electionNo, it was not - but there is little doubt that 1) German Austria was always - ALWAYS - part of the region called "Germany", and 2) Once the Empire was dismantled, leaving a small German rump state, anschluss was overwhelmingly popular.
Furthermore, the region of German Austria punched well above its weight in Nazi theory and Nazi practice. German Austria contributed much more than its share of Nazi leaders and Nazi butchers.
In 1945, the decision to undo the anschluss and to declare German Austria "Hitler's first victim" was a godsend for Germans living in German Austria.
In many ways, they got away with murder.

Why are you sorry? I like guns. My favorite was the little Berretta my husband taught me to shoot. I was able to shoot binLaden's beard 9/10 times from 10 feet away--that was good for me. He had a bunch of pistols, even an over/under Air Force rifle. I THINK I remember right. I think it's just fine that guns need not be registered. Please don't assume things about me. I am very clear. If I hated guns I would have said so. I am NOT subtle.
I did not mean to imply any such thing about you. It was more of a playful figure of speech. Also, your post seemed very pro-gun to me. I was really kind of rejoicing in the fact that my state is still fairly free. Sorry for any misunderstanding.
