Ryan's Committee Scrubs Doc of Claim to Protect Disabled Vets' Pensions

House Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) has scrubbed a document to remove a false statement about the budget deal he cut with Senate Budget Committee chairwoman Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), Breitbart News has learned.

An original talking point in the document claimed the plan’s cuts to military pensions for wounded warriors, or service members who retired as a result of disability or injury, would not be affected.

The section of the original document, at the end of page two and top of page three, is titled: “Annual adjustment of retired pay and retainer pay amounts for retired members of the Armed Forces under age 62.”

The key sentence in that paragraph is this claim: “This would not affect service members who retired because of disability or injury.”

In the document currently hosted on Ryan’s Budget Committee website, that claim has been scrubbed from that section in addition to other changes.

My stepson, age 32 now, lost two limbs in Iraq in 2008. He’s retired/disabled from USMC. I think he has paid his dues, and should not be subject to cuts in benefits. It is not like he can go out and supplement his income now.

It is interesting how when you cut the increase in payments going to illegal aliens it is a counted as a cut, but when you actually cut the benefits to soldiers injured in the line of duty its swept under the rug.

Sen. Patty Murray: Cuts to Disabled Veterans in Budget a Mistake

In an incredible juxtaposition, it is Sen Murray, a Democrat, working with Sen Chambliss (R-GA) took to the Senate floor 2 days ago vowing correct this, and to protect disabled veterans from pension cuts.

Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, and John Boehner have all crawled into their spider holes and have not said one word about correcting this outrage through legislation.
