Brooklyn Councilwoman Laurie Cumbo blamed the recent ‘knockout game’ attacks in her district on the growth and succsess of the Jewish Community. In a Facebook post she says, “Many of her black constituents told her they feel threatened by the growth of the neighborhood’s Jewish community.”

The alleged “knockout” attacks on Jewish residents of Crown Heights may stem from ongoing racial tension between the neighborhood’s black and Jewish communities, a newly-elected Brooklyn politician said.
Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo, who was elected to represent Crown Heights starting in January, released an open letter Tuesday saying that many of her black constituents told her they feel threatened by the growth of the neighborhood’s Jewish community — and she fears the tension could be spiking the recent violence.
“Many African American/Caribbean residents expressed a genuine concern that as the Jewish community continues to grow, they would be pushed out by their Jewish landlords or by Jewish families looking to purchase homes,” Cumbo wrote in the 1,200-word letter, which was emailed to supporters and posted on her Facebook page.
“I respect and appreciate the Jewish community’s family values and unity that has led to strong political, economic and cultural gains. While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success.”
She added that these sentiments among black Crown Heights residents “offer possible insight as to how young African American/Caribbean teens could conceivably commit a ‘hate crime’ against a community that they know very little about.”
That’s it. It’s the Jews’ fault.
No worries. It’ll all be patched up by next election and they’ll both vote democrat yet again. I’m not sure they’re at one another’s throats; I suspect both groups have Jew hatred in common.

Blacks have a long history of hating Jews..not sure why, but whenever my Mom sees a black doctor and they ask where’s she’s from she says Germany because she doesn’t want them to know she is Israeli
I don’t think she’s endorsing the knockout game. What she would endorse is hiking up the progressive tax rate to hit these Jews in their wallet where it will really hurt. That’s the moral, ethical, socially responsible way to deal with the Jewish problem and get justice for her people.
So it’s those Jews again. Seeing a Jew is just too much for poor, young innocent kind tolerant non-violent law-abiding Black men, and they can not help themselves. If there weren’t so many Jews the Black men would be nice boys, good boys, respecting themselves and other people. The Jew is always to blame.

Animal instincts rule. Higher order powers of reasoning are weak and atrophied. Socializing never took place during their upbringing, producing feral sociopath savages who take pleasure in inflicting pain and death on humans whose brain and intellect actually function.
Look up the average IQ of a Jew, Asian, Caucasian and Black. The results are surprising.

Jewish families looking to purchase homes?
If they don’t want to sell them, how is that a concern?
If they do want to sell them, you’d think they’d be happy.
The Jews in this neighborhood vote mainly republican. They were the only patch of red in all of central Brooklyn for the mayoral race.
They are not liberal dems.

Sure. I know the blacks are largely protestant Christians and was just thinking of a historically anti-Semitic Protestant denomination, and all I could come up with were Lutherans.
Not a slam against modern-day Lutherans, just figured the bad theology had to come from somewhere, historically.

As a refugee from The Episcopal Church who found shelter in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, I have come to a fuller understanding of this. Our pastor rejected Luther's anti-semitism and said that Luther probably went down that path in his later years when his health was failing. To our pastor's credit, he exposed us to the some of the anti-semitism in Germany. Specifically, the judensau, an image of Jews in obscene contact with a large sow (female pig), which in Judaism is an unclean animal, that appeared during the 13th century in Germany and some other European countries; its popularity lasted for over 600 years.

Clearly the councilwomen has problems with Jews. I'm sure I'm wrong, being a Jew, but I'd speculate that those blacks selling houses to Jews felt it was in their interest. I don't believe the bags of money stuff, you can't turn up at banks with bags of cash to make a large purchase without an explanation. Usually.
I often distrust old demographics, but I remember in my youth that Brooklyn folk were Dodger fans and the Jewish guys in WWII movies. So I checked Jewish Virtual Library which I consider a reputable (bookmarked) source, and they say in 1920 29.9 percent of Brooklyn's population was Jewish. Less than the Bronx, but more than the other boroughs. The Councilwoman is full of something.
Another historical question which I doubt the councilwoman can answer. Carribean, scheribbean, NYC at it's founding was a diverse place. Christians, sure, but pirates and even Jews early on. The first Jews, a couple dozen I think, were from the Carribean, some from Brazil via the Carribean, fleeing the Inquisition. And now the Jews are throwing out the Carribeanites. Funny
File that under what have you done for you lately. And it was the right thing to do.
