Police: Stranger Punched Man in 'Knockout' Attack ("victim...wearing a yarmulke")

New York police said an attack on a Jewish man based on the so-called knockout game is being investigated as a possible hate crime.

The 24-year-old victim, who was wearing a yarmulke, told police he was walking home around 2:35 a.m. Friday in Brooklyn when he heard four men behind him talking about "knockout" -- a relatively recent phenomenon involving random attacks on strangers for attempted knockouts, the New York Post reported.

The victim said the men's conversation culminated in one of them punching him in the face, knocking him to the ground but not knocking him out.

The young man was able to flag down police officers, who arrested the four men.

Police said the Hate Crime Task Force is investigating...

No I don't think this is true.

I'm not trying to be patronizing, but Orthodox Jews do NOT engage in such behavior. For one, it would violate every code in Judaic law, second, it just doesn't make any sense.

These are very insular people, who just want to be left alone.

I'm no expert, but these are about the LAST folks who would go looking for trouble.

Playing the game somewhere. I actually think these yutes are being told to play this “Game” by their elders. Alot of this crap started after o was elected along with the black kids going in stores and stuffing things in their backpacks. It is worse now, and Obama's election has certainly emboldened the perpetrators. But, the problem is very old, it is not a new invention.

Recently, the media has begun to cover the “knockout game” more. But they have left unreported the incredible violence of many earlier attacks. Frequently, the initial punch which knocked the victim to the ground was followed by kicks and stomping until the victim died.

If there was just ONE incident of a group of white guys beating up a black guy, the "Al and Jesse Show" would be there the same day, and NY would burn.

Google up the Crown Heights Riots, or the Howard Beach incident.
